I agree the outcome would not have changed but to admit he had nothing to tell the team sounds lame when TO's at that point are called to hopefully put a bandaid on the bleeding.

Oats needs to get a momentum analytics calculator.
He'd find out there's a lot more to it than he thinks

I think he was so ticked at the team for lack of effort he was going to let them sink or swim in their own piss.

That’s exactly what he did.

Not knowing how to use a timeout isn’t a new thing for Oats
it's literally been my only complainant about him over the last few years. That said, there really should be 5 timeouts in a 40 minute game. The NBA gets 7 in 48 minutes. Here's what the Olympics do..

In Olympic basketball, teams have a total of five timeouts during regulation play: two in the first half and three in the second half, with a maximum of two allowed in the last two minutes of the fourth quarter.

Give us 4 quarters and 5 timeouts. It's a much better system, and gives you that momentum timeout, or one for a loose ball.

The odd part is he has been asked about it over the years enough for it to be on his radar and a simple fix. It's pretty apparent he just doesn't subscribe to timeouts as momentum breakers. That said, coming out of the huddle in Knoxville with multiple timeouts in a do or die scenario: For him, our players and our assistants to be completely oblivious to calling a timeout falls squarely on him and it's really hard for basketball played at any level to fail that test in that moment.

Well to be fair about yesterday, Golden has absolutely dominated us out of timeouts the past 2 years. A person could theorize that it would have looked even worse after a timeout.

Looking at how hard Zachai Zeigler plays on defense makes me wish Sears competed that hard on that end. Even if his shot isn’t falling he keeps his teammates engaged with his defensive intensity. We need to bring a different kind of energy in the tournament.

Believe it or not, some players are more talented at certain things than others. Mark doesn't have even close to the amount of quickness that Zeigler has.

Hey fellas, we’re about to be a two seed coming off a Final Four appearance last season as a 4 seed. Roll Tide!

What a time to be alive! I hope all the bandwagon basketball fans understand that this is the best of times. Too many seem to think this should be like the Saban football years with us getting a 1 seed every year.

Sometimes it’s not about talent and more about effort. You rarely see Sears aggressively go around screens. That’s not about quickness. Coach oats has shown he is not satisfied with his effort also. If he can’t shoot free throws and open threes he’s not very engaged. It hurts our team when our leader is passive and doesn’t seem interested in playing at times.

Yes, if Sears just tried harder he could defend like Zeigler.

Let's be realistic. I know you're just here to keep the clicks coming. But, I'm going to say that Sears gets as much from his abilities as anyone on the team.

We really need to not draw KU 2nd round because if we get a bad Cliff game then Dickerson is going to kill us.

Yeah we’re toast without Nelson, especially with KU or Gonzaga in R32.

4 leg injuries to starters over the course of the year... You just can't afford not to go 11-12 deep anymore
