I agree completely with you. Guess it highlights mostly how the landscape has changed (I’m my opinion for the worse). There’s no commitment anymore .

JMO...Nick came and got the studs to sign-on to building a program and winning. That happened.
next the studs came so Nick could get them ready for the NFL draft and winning NC's
now they come the money 1st and 2nd is Nick getting them ready for the NFL and winning is kind of secondary.
Being at Bama and the tradition is way down the list.

Underwhelming is being kind. Pretty much my only memories of Benson in an Alabama uniform will be all the lazy, matador blocking he did. I don't understand how he got on the field at all with how consistently low effort it was.

I hope that we never take another JUCO player again if at all possible. When was the last good one that we signed ?

Good question. Jesse Williams? I feel like we got another juco DLineman at some point after that, but maybe not. Isn't Justin Jefferson supposed to be legit?
AU won a title with a juco QB and DT, and almost won another with a juco QB.

Isaiah Buggs was very good as was Jarron Reed. Outside of them it has been slim pickings. Jefferson is a great special teams player but probably will never start at inside linebacker.

I do too. But some of these guys have been holding their helmets for 2-3 years and know they are not going to get much PT . Can’t blame those guys IMO

This. How many were actually in line to start ? Maybe Earl Little ? That’s possible but no guarantee. Anquin Barnes literally played in two games in three seasons at Alabama.

Between the juniors and seniors that go pro. The recruiting class-like numbers exiting in the portal 20+, with the new portal players coming in with a normal recruiting class; wouldn’t that put the core group of returning players at less than 50%? From the prior year roster wise.
