Look at what FSU did in the offseason. They revamped their roster and staff. Now they are a totally different team from last year. If DeBoer bottoms out this year, then doing a total roster overhaul and upgrading the coaching staff along with S&C seems like the only logical move.

But again...$69 million means you don't have to give a sh!t.

Starting to think he realized he got his golden ticket and doesn’t have to do anything. He sure as hell coaches like it.

The guy has basically won the lottery with his contract. He’s in cruise control now. No reason to care about our program when he’s not from this part of the country.

DeBoer has the stink of Mike Shula on him, so I don't know if he can really be lifted to a level we would call acceptable. At least Ryan Day was winning his conference and playing in national semis and championships before his boosters decided to just spend him to a title. DeBoer is looking like an 8-4 average season type coach, so what does spending 10-20m on his roster, coaching staff, and support staff really do for him?

This just hit me. I’m wondering if his agent is already looking elsewhere because DeBoer sure looks and acts like he’s zoned out and he has to realize it’s not working.

His agent is Jimmy Sexton.

Exactly .

Can someone ask him if he's embarrassed...is he pissed? Does he find things completely unacceptable from the staff to the effort?

You just get the feel he doesn't care. Checks the pdf of his buyout clause before turning out the light and sleeping like a baby. Unless you're the rare individual with a relentless internal drive, there's no real urgency. He's not applying for an EBT card if he fails.

Next time we do have a coaching search, let's keep the search in the eastern half of the country.

Which coach isn’t represented by Sexton, the single most powerful individual in college football?

Is this guy ever going to die? Seems like Sexton has been screwing schools since I was a kid.

The real problem is the players whom don't have to do a dang thing to keep their money. It's upfront and guaranteed.

I have found that when you pay soeone before they do the job, they suddenly will find their time more valuable than it actually is, and they will work less and do a poorer job.

Exactly. He doesn’t seem to care or understand the gravity of being the head coach at Alabama. At least Dabo and Brian Kelly coach with fire and passion.

Jimmy Sexton is college coaches’ Scott Boras.

Again, you don’t have to be a raving maniac and throw things. Just be emotionally involved and invested in what’s happening and act like you want to beat someone’s arse.

The red flag for me is back in February when he chose to go to a random Washington softball game against Grand Canyon instead of sticking around campus for the biggest basketball home game in memory.

Those were all extremely petty things to label a “red flag,” but if an organization gave you $80 million, would you do that?

You don't move until there's a can't miss candidate. In a few years that could be Demeco.
