It's a results oriented game and Grubb has to quit wasting plays with Jam.
He averaged 1.6 yards per rush.
Hill 4.8 yards per rush.
This offense isn't good enough to waste plays. Same OL for both RBs. Not great blocking, but Jam's running style is pretty terrible.
Hill has to be RB1...and I don't think Miller should see the field.

Not going to argue but how healthy was he last night?

They did not use Jam much in pure running plays last night, only 7 carries.
Clearly though he is the better blocker, and we have to run it some if he is in. Otherwise we are telegraphing what we are going to do

Miller is still hesitating too much at the line and trying to bounce stuff outside.

26 starts juking coming out of the huddle. What was the deal sending in 20 for the screen pass and not 0. Is that guy hurt?

This season Jam has collected injuries like Thanos collecting infinity gems.
I don’t think he has been healthy. OL has had some significant issues.
He had good moments at blitz pickup last night.
He has happy feet like Ty.

Jam was on a pitch count. He is still recovering. Washington and Jam provided a few plays of breather for Hill and nothing more.

If we can’t run the ball we will not advance. Damn it’s frustrating not to have that dominance like we used to.

Let's hope riley is back for the rose bowl, he has a speed burst that 4,26 doesn't have , he has been missed in my opinion. Not the biggest but I like his motor.

RB play has been frustratingly abysmal. All of the RBs have their issues.
Jam won't hit the hole but is our best blocker and has good hands.
Hill struggles with blocks and goes down too easy for a 240# RB. But, he hits the hole hard and will bounce when needed.
For the life of me I don't know why they don't try Dear more. He's got good vision and elite speed. Yes, he struggles with picking up the blitz but has getting to the 2nd level ability.
Riley stays hurt but checks most of the boxes.
ALL of the RBs would benefit from an OL that could consistently run block.

Hills yardage mostly came on the 30 yard run. Otherwise it’s 8 carries 12 yards versus 7 carries for 11 yards
Using average isn’t the right metric when one run is causing a massive skew
It’s less the backs and more the run scheme/blocking performance blows. Every back has the same issue as Jam. Dear sucks in pass pro and the blown play against Georgia shows he’s not as solid with the playbook
Also Hill and Jam had 3 or so fumbles between each other last night.
I think either way we need to take a hard look at moving on from OL coach

Well technically, #20 did do a good job of pass blocking on that screen to him as he did "block" 2 OU guys.

He looked terrified against Auburn and UGA

Wrong. The next game may be the healthiest Jam we've seen all year. Dude has had a tough season on the injury front.
