Really hope Lotzeir lives up to my expectations.

I felt the same about Christian Leary and Jojo Earle.

My expectations for Lotzier are higher than those guys. Closer to Waddle.

It seems Russell didn't waste time hitting the weights. He was 175 in high school, he's 192 now. Added nearly 20lbs of muscle

Agree. I’m curious if he will end up at some point cross training ILB/OLB like Jihaad. I could see it.. ETA Ohio State wanted J Hill badly. I’m sure he will be a baller at some point. Will be tough to take reps away from Russaw and Pierre next year though.

He’s a really talented player. But his path to early playing time will be tough either at Wolf or the inside linebacker positions. Bama signed some really good young players for the inside positions. QB Reese and Cayden Jones are good players who are RS freshmen. But maybe he’s just too good and they find a way to get him on the field.

Tevin Madison is from Fayette County. He will likely be a boon for in state recruiting.

I like the guys we have coming back on the interior offensive line. 2 starters and I thought the Alinen kid looked good when he got playing time, but what are we hearing about the tackles? Right tackle was a struggle all season last year. I didn’t even know who this Anugwom kid was when I saw him listed with the first team. If we can develop a decent right tackle opposite Proctor, I think we’ll be pretty solid on the o-line this season

Went and looked up his history. Signed with Texas Tech as a cornerback. Really good athlete. Was in the same class as Marlon Humphrey in 2014. Hopefully he can coach and recruit.

He’s even wearing Waddle’s number. Hopefully turns out to be a Waddle clone.

This is ridiculous, I'm just going to start a separate thread for a West Alabama staff tracker:

Beaman is a big ol’ boy. He’s got some serious quickness to him too. Since about mid way through last year, he’s been one of my candidates to have a really big/breakout year this upcoming season. Crazy he’s put on 50 lbs in ~12 months and has stayed relatively lean.

Being a former SDE in HS, I imagine he’s got crazy high upside as an interior pass rusher. However, we need him to perform at a very high level in defending the run given the loss of Damon Payne, who actually was a stud against the ground game last year when spelling Tim Keenan.

I’m very optimistic about our defensive front this year (though I’ve said this every year since 2015, expecting all of our DL units every year to match what was done from 2015-2017 lmao).
