It’s not a letter of not being able to but you don’t want to blow NIL on recruiting perception. Spend the money where you really need it on pieces that you have more than 1 year.

I understand but Bama desperately needs quality DT/DE types. The ones in this class are pretty much projects and probably won’t be ready next season.

Alabama’s defensive line is very good. James Smith will be that dude next year. Lots of talent and depth. They fit the 4-2-5 well.

I think we're fine at the weak-side and strong-side end positions in this defense assuming Overton comes back and I think he will. Collins is probably rotating with Overton. Pierre rotating with Russaw. Keenan and Smith are solid at NT. DT is just Hill in 2025 at the moment. We really need another DT body that is probably more starter than depth quality. Assuming Overton is back, Collins is a good depth pick up. That's not what Alabama needs at DT...they need a starter.

I have seen info that Overton was well viewed by draft scouts and was a lean to leave. So this is either inaccurate or has changed (or his NIL money was upped)?

Overton is not a first round grade DE. He’s stupid to leave. He’ll go in the 2nd round at best, 3rd or 4th in reality.
