Why do you think all the out of state kids apply to go to Bama? I can assure you it's not the proximity of the university to a large metropolitan city oozing with opportunity
Yeah you can contribute the influx of out of state students to the football program, but you also can't deny the influence that scholarship money the University is sending out to these students. Even when I was a freshman in 2005 the out of state recruitment was heating up and this is when we sucked as a program. So it's not ALL football, but I agree that it is a substantial factor

Agree with this^^^^^ but I’d also add these players are also treated like gods on campus and many of them get the attentions of attractive or maybe smoking good looking women that they normally get if they didn’t play football.
But your point is on target. Frankly, I think the NCAA should remove the graduation targets. Schools should still assist them with tutors if need be but this crap of begging/pleading/threatening them to get their degree should end. If the player doesn’t care, why should the university?

Well I think you need to take up golf then because without resources there won't be much else to do on Saturdays.
That's fine by me. I'm paying for enough in my estimation. The players getting to buy or lease a sport car on a modest salary - because they have no real expenses like an adult working a real job - is not going to be funded on a part of my household incomes.
If they can't figure out how to share the part of the billions these schools bring in on the backs of our expensive cable and streaming service stack of bills with the players, I guess the programs without billionaire benefactors will just die. And if that is Alabama football, so be it.

NIL wasn't suppose to be another subscription for the fans. This was meant to be for the players to sign autographs for cash on the low end and do commercial endorsements on the high end.
What is has become is disgusting and the value proposition is ridiculous. I've got to pay over 1000 dollars a year for enough cable and/or streaming services to watch all of my team's games. Lets say you only keep cable and streaming services during the football season for college and pro. So that is still likely 500 or more dollars. Getting season tickets requires significant donations for the opportunity to buy something that will be around 1000 dollars just for home games. Going to the game is more than just the donations and tickets too. Travel expenses for 7-8 home games could be several thousands if you stay in a hotel.
Then after all that expense, the expectation is that you need to attach another money sucking subscription to your bank account to make sure your team's roster is kept up well in Hellcats, AMGs, Lambos, and Porsches while they live in lodging on the school's dime, essentially get dressed and fed by the school for free, and don't pay a dime for their education plus they get tons of educational support. This isn't even considering the value the school is providing in athletic development.
At a certain point, you've got to say no mas unless you have generational wealth at your disposal that you can waste on roster development without affecting your kid's trust fund.
And I make good money but that isn't me.

If tweet fails to load, click here. It'll be interesting to see if Texas tries to land Singleton and Concepcion.

I mean how ae we supposed to compete with Texas money? Schools like Texas, A&M, Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan, Arkansas (if they ever decide to use that $ for football). We are in a small, poor state with another in-state rival that we have to compete with.

They also just snagged Jackson Bouwmeester, a 2nd Team All-Big 12 punter from Utah.

it won't burn down and collapse, UT and other schools, probably UNC now, will continue to fund their programs. Crying about it will only hurt our program. The cats out the bag... no putting it back in

Good need to work on my short game any way. I’m a bad arse off the tee though.

Excited for visits that precede a bag being thrown at him by any of our rivals often just to impoverish us from filling holes to be depth on the bag tosser's roster.
