Losing recruits to Missouri and A&M isn't a good look
We lost guys who don't want to come to Bama and wait their turn. We don't need those guys. Seriously. We have recruited at a high-level.

A lot more drama with the February signing period than I would have thought. But with few guys left, and recruiting boards reshuffled for many schools, it causes this.

Bama insiders need some new sauces. Sheesh Louise.

I hate to say it, but I think Dabo is doing it the right way now: if you commit, you are committed. Shut it down and you’ve got a spot. But you shop, we shop. But I have to admit, it’s a helluva lot easier to do that when you are the only relevant program in the ACC and on the entire eastern seaboard for that matter.

Yeah, who would've thought their assholes weren't great sources.

Think it goes to show Watts is mortal, his CB pick shouldn't be held higher than any other analyst at this point.
This was a great class no matter what, but damn it feels weird losing out to Mizzou and A&M for guys. Maybe because all the drama is gone for NSD, when it use to be so big.
Hope the deciding factor of hiring Roach wasn't his relationship with Jackson, Saban did the same thing with Chris Rumph and Jadaveon Clowney and it didn't work either.
I'd just really love some consistency at DL Coach plz

So did Jimbo ever go visit Jackson's grandma at the nursing home?
Maybe that was a little much. Saban and Orgeron both went there and the only thing they got out of it was that old-person stank.
I'm just trying to laugh about it because recruiting is so ridiculous.

Every recruit we have "lost" recently we seem to have "lost" them because of either a familial connection (Henderson to UF) or because of our depth chart or because the kid wanted to stay closer to home. We just lost a 5 star recruit in Alfano because he didn't want to wait. So, if anything it's a good thing these kids didn't do us the disservice by signing and then transferring out after a summer semester.

What position does maye play in basketball? I mean those rebounds are nice but he is 6'5. Hard to believe UNC doesn't have someone better on the court for that purpose.
Why UNC BBall does not have to waste a scholly on him if he plays football there.
The word is football first as he feels he can go pro and not with basketball. The way I see Maye not ending up in the class for 2021 is if we recruit another QB. He was quoted as saying Saban told him he would be the only QB in the class.

they didn't commit to bama either. you can't lose what you never had. they simply chose someone else, period.

Very odd that no one could find a reliable source in Lucedale. Basically mobile

Recruiting is about relationships. You never know who is in that nursing home or heard about that nursing home visit that appreciates Saban visiting.

I wonder if that will change if Taulia or other QBs hit the portal?

But Saban has to be recruiting somebody else too just in case Maye decides at the last minute to go elsewhere.
QB recruiting normally requires a long lead time.

It was a depth chart decision. Alabama is loaded in the middle with bodies just like Jackson. Dale, Sopsher, Tim Smith, Wynn. Golding needs to coach the current kids up better. Bottom line.
Posted on 2/5/20 at 9:52 am to bamatide07
Not sold on that. Jackson is talented enough to play right away. Deep DL or not.
Posted on 2/5/20 at 9:55 am to crimsontater
Exactly. Didn’t Jackson say that he knew where he was going a year ago. He already told the staff as well. Either way, it sucks to lose out on him and the others, but we have a really good class. Plus, it appears that Baker and Burroughs managed to qualify.

Some players are different and don’t mind playing on a loaded depth chart. Jackson clearly wants early playing time, he wouldn’t have gotten that with Alabama

If so, don't we have a good bit of number crunching to do to get to 85 for 2020?
