Ehhh Oregon looks to be doing really well and Herm Edwards has Arizona State going in the right direction. Washington is a good program as well. USC is a traditional power that happens to be in disarray. They need new leadership.

bottom line is we needed defenders and lots of them, and we got that. Next year we will have to hit much more at receiver and OL. It would also help if we can identify and avoid any more Alfano's You can't win with quitters.

So BamaBo, what do your MS coaching connections have to say about McKinnley Jackson? Where is he headed?

So, going forward, who are we looking at?

Confirmed
- TE Darnell Washington (5-star, #10 Overall)
- DT McKinnley Jackson (4-star, #113 Overall)

Probable
- WR Xzavier Henderson (4-star, #59 Overall)
- DE Alfred Collins (4-star, #71 Overall)

If Option A Goes Elsewhere
- TE Brandon Frazier (3-star, #613 Overall)

Unsigned at Positions of Possible Need from the Region
- WR Malachi Wideman (4-star, #132 Overall) (FSU Commit)
- WR Darin Turner (4-star, #196 Overall)
- WR Leonard Manuel (4-star, #251 Overall) (Florida commit)
- WR Alex Adams (3-star, #403 Overall)

The administration probably loved that their recruiting sucked just to screw over Helton.

The administration is the only reason Helton is there. They love him.

Eh, they also would have a massive buyout to swallow so that may have had something to do with keeping him.

Their school administration genuinely love him. They think he's a good person, does things right, graduates kids, etc etc.

It's been basically the only group who has genuinely supported him, and since the athletic department administration has been in total chaos until about 4 weeks ago, they are really the only people who mattered.

I think we finish the class with Brandon Frazier. Washington ends up at UGA, Henderson at Clemson, and Collins stays in state. I think we have a shot at Jackson, but I don't think anyone can get a read on him. It might be a LSU/OM battle.

Total homer pick but I think Washington signs with Alabama. Is he an EE?

We have football players with legs - does that count?

I want Washington really really bad, that would be an incredible topping to get a fantastic player in a needed position while also sticking it to UGA / Kirby

Idk how the hell you finish last in the pac 12 in recruiting when your usc!!!

I don't know how the hell the coach keeps his job. I was kind of sweating that he'd be fired, they'd hire Meyer and try to flip Young.

Now that Young is signed I wouldn't mind USC hiring a great coach (not many out there) as I like USC ok.

Jah-Marien Latham.

He is going to be a monster once he gets into a weight program better than Pickens County.

I just don't see it with Washington. I'm not saying he's going to be a bust or anything, but I don't see him being a top 10-15 overall player either. He's a big dude who catches with his hands, jumps well, and has an enormous catch radius, but I think 90% of his value will be as a redzone/3rd down target. He doesn't run very good routes and doesn't appear to have a ton of speed or quick twitch athleticism. A solid contributor for sure, but not a big playmaker like OJ and Irv.

Would anyone be upset if we went after Demon Clowney now that LSU fricked up his recruitment?

He's 6'4" 225 pounds and is a missile off the edge. Would make missing on Webb sting a little less.

ETA: As many guys as we lose on defense to injury, I'd like to add another pass rusher to this class for insurance reasons.

NSD: The 10 biggest flips of the Early Signing Period

quote:

JASE MCCLELLAN - Oklahoma to Alabama

After being committed to Oklahoma for two and half years, McClellan went away from the Sooners and inked with the Crimson Tide. McClellan took an official visit to Alabama when it hosted LSU and the visit went well, but not many expected it to end up like this. He is also Alabama’s third running back in this class, so that surprised some as well. It is a big loss for Lincoln Riley and a big win for Nick Saban.
