I'm not panicking, I'm just not convinced Shavers, X. Williams and Bolden are All-SEC level talents. I think they'd all be good role players, but none of them are game-changers like the guys we've had. Metchie may be the exception, but even he remains unproven. Now if Smitty comes back with Waddle as the 2 stars, and we can fill roles with all the others guys--then we're set. Ruggs would be icing.

Shavers is 6'6" and runs a sub 4.4. He's the prime example of just how stacked that WR room has been at Alabama. The Fab 4 are just unbelievable talents.

Wonder if they move Townsend back to receiver with all the RB depth we just added. He's a 4.4 guy if you're looking for speed.

I also have a hunch that Drew Sanders might move to tight end. Either way, we got a great athlete with him. Latu and Billingsley are promising talents IMO.

Agreed. I hope Townsend sticks around because he absolutely has an extra burst.

It seems highly likely to me. He's elusive and has breakaway speed. He's not quite at Jeudy, Ruggs, Smitty level, but he's pretty close. There's really not a huge drop off. He can flat out play. I think he might've gotten a decent amount of rotational PT this season if we hadn't landed Waddle.

Surge, off the top of your head, who do you believe is the fastest guy we signed today?

I would think a CB.

All the more reason to hope that Smitty and Ruggs come back or we get someone from the portal. Speed is THE reason we beat Georgia two years ago in the NCG. Smitty toasted the UGA secondary. Speed kills and we need more.

Holden and Jones-Bell both have good explosiveness/long speed.

Maybe Jones-Bell or one of the DBs

I doubt that about Sanders. Sanders signed with Bama because he didn't want to play TE at Oklahoma.

I’m sorry, but there’s no way Shavers runs a sub 4.4. That’s elite speed for smaller NFL WRs. Every time he gets in the game he looks slow-ish to me and struggles to get separation. He’s Derrek Kief 2.0. I halfway wish they’d pack 25 lbs on him. He’d likely make a good TE. Hope he proves me wrong!

I mean he ran a 4.38 at the Opening Finals in high school. That's documented. Maybe he's added weight and lost a step since he got to college but he was sub 4.4 at one point.

Shavers ran an electronic timed 4.38 at a camp in high school.

I've been watching videos, and I believe that I'm gonna stick with Holden. He's not as quick as some of the other guys, but when he gets cranked up. He gone
