EJ Williams is announcing on Saturday and has already informed the school he is committing to that he is coming.

Good luck to him at Clemson.

No. Everyone expects him to pick them and has for a while now.

Tide Saint:

1) How is school going? Aren't you getting your Masters?
2) I recently read an article where they discovered that U.S. Service personnel that were stationed in South Korea were the victims of a massive identity theft situation. I think you were there a few times last year.
3) Did you ever have to move?

Hope you and your family are doing well. We miss your regular input here!

The Southern 120: Counting down Nos. 91-120 of the South’s top Class of 2020 recruits (Al.com)

quote:

The Southern 120: AL.com’s recruiting rankings for the Class of 2020 is a ranking of the top 120 high school football prospects in the 10-state SEC footprint.

Today we reveal the prospects ranked between Nos. 91-120. The top prospect will be revealed Thursday.

Here’s today’s installment, with player’s name, hometown and position:

quote:

119. Xavier Hill, Olive Branch, Miss., G. Alabama reached into an Ole Miss hotbed to land this powerful offensive lineman.

quote:

112. Timothy Smith, Sebastian, Fla., DT. Smith is already huge and will play inside on Alabama’s defensive line.

quote:

110. Damieon George, Houston, Tex., OT. The teammate of the top running back in the state, Zachary Evans, is already committed to Alabama. That could help the Tide land his teammate and close friend.

Thanks bud. Been too busy with work to get much schooling in. My office is transitioning to San Antonio and I'm the last active duty person left. I just got back from a TDY to Wisconsin yesterday.

Luckily I was not affected by the identity theft stuff while I was over there. I never use my personal debit card on trips like that. Let them steal the government travel card stuff instead.

We're looking to move with the program when it transitions in the middle of next year, but we don't know if that will happen. San Antonio would be the destination if it were to occur. We love it in Prattville, but the job opportunities this program will provide once I retire are too hard to pass up. We're talking serious money.

Now that the season is starting I'll probably be around a lot more.

Sounds like you have been, or will be, stationed in the two areas where I spent most of my active duty time. I was stationed at Gunter for 8 years (we lived in Wetumpka) and spent 7 years at Randolph (two different tours). Liked both places; have you been to San Antonio before? Loved the Mexican food there (Salsalitos for sit down & Taco Cabana for fast food) as well as the brisket. They also had this breakfast burrito place (it was a hole in the wall) just outside the main gate on Randolph that was outstanding as well...

How long till retirement?

Today we reveal the prospects ranked between Nos. 31-60. The top prospect will be revealed Thursday.

quote:

55. Javon Baker, Powder Springs, Ga., WR. He’s not the biggest receiver, but he is strong and has great hands. He’s committed to Alabama.

quote:

50. Kristian Story, Lanett, Ala., QB. Story is smart on offense, instinctive on defense and a winner on both sides of the ball. Alabama will give the small-school star a shot at quarterback, but he could easily translate as a safety for the Tide.

quote:

43. Brian Branch, Tyrone, Ga., S. Branch will have a chance to be an immediate contributor as a kick and punt returner at Alabama.

quote:

39. Thaiu Jones-Bell, Hallandale, Fla., WR. Jones-Bell will look to follow in the huge footsteps of Amari Cooper, Calvin Ridley and Jerry Jeudy as South Florida wide receivers to star at Alabama.

quote:

37. Malachi Moore, Trussville, Ala., CB. Moore could play corner, safety or nickel in Nick Saban’s defense at Alabama. He’s the latest in a long line of Hewitt-Trussville stars to move on to college football.

quote:

24. Roydell Williams, Hueytown, Ala., RB. Williams spent most of his summer with his teammates, including trying his hand at quarterback, instead of at national camps. But that doesn’t make the Alabama commit less of a blue-chip prospect. His chiseled frame is already SEC ready.

quote:

21. Quandarrius Robinson, Birmingham, Ala., OLB. The Jackson-Olin star is so incredibly athletic that it’s hard to pinpoint a single position for him. Already the Alabama commit is one of the Class of 2020’s most dynamic pass rushers.

quote:

11. Demouy Kennedy, Theodore, Ala., LB. He wears No. 32, just like fellow Theodore linebacker C.J. Mosley wore at Alabama. Kennedy has the potential to be just as good a player for the Tide.

Gilbert is a strange case because his best position could be as a Defensive End but he wants no part of that at all. He is a heckuva player but already sounds high maintenance.
Sounds like the kid has a problem with physicality...especially with folks his own size or bigger.

(1) TE is Gilbert's natural best positon, not DE.
(2) Gilbert has no problem with physicality.
(3) "High mainenance" sounds like sour grapes.

no sour grapes. I absolutely want Arik Gilbert to be a Dawg. See him as #1-A to Washington's #1-B but slightly favor Gilbert - plus he's the home state kid so would rather UGA grab him - but it's not trending that way which I have already stated.

As to physicality, that was someone else, I don't see issue there either but for some reason Gilbert seems to not really want to play the traditional TE position. Obviously there are lots of different ways to feature a TE and Gilbert would be really good at all of them.

As to high maintenance, I dunno - he likely will be fine when he gets on a college campus but he does seem to want teams to "prove things to him" right now which is somewhat arrogant.
