I haven't seen any Bama fans lash out at him on Twitter yet. Regardless, the comments of a few fans are not going to influence whether he goes to Bama or not.

Ohhh, your son named Alabama out of 6 teams.

Gosh, that never happens.

I am glad to hear Alabama fans aren't being nuts on twitter. Seems like very little good can come from it.

Roster update: Per Tua's 08/20 Instagram, senior walkon TE Giles Amos awarded a scholly, putting UA's total counters at 85.

Note: Roster link is on top line of 1st post itt.

Is it just me or does Amos look like an 80's porn star with the stache and mullet?

Amos looks more like a 70's rock star, imo.

Alabama walk-on tight end earns scholarship (BamaOnLine)
quote:

Giles Amos received some good news Tuesday evening. Amos, a walk-on tight end at Alabama, was awarded a scholarship, according to junior quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's Instagram story, which read, “Congrats to my guy on getting a scholarship!”

“We have some guys -- we have Major Tennison, we have Miller Forristall, we have Giles Amos,” said Tagovailoa earlier in preseason camp. “I know not too many of you guys know who these guys are, but I think they're gonna be a big asset to us this upcoming year.”

A senior, Amos is a native of Perry, Ga., and a product of Westfield (Ga.) High School and stands at 6-foot-4, 245 pounds. As a walk-on in 2018, he made his first career appearance against Louisiana and saw time against The Citadel. During the Crimson Tide's spring game in April, Amos caught one pass for four yards.

“He does a lot,” safety Xavier McKinney said. “He kind of, for me, just got on the radar. But he can definitely do it all. He’s got strong hands, physical and he’s definitely one of those guys that’s kind of hard to guard. I think he brings a lot to the table.”

With Hale Hentges and Irv Smith Jr. moving on to the NFL and Kedrick James transferring to SMU, Alabama needs for its inexperienced tight ends to step up prior to the start of the 2019 season.

Redshirt junior Miller Forristall is expected to be the No. 1 option at the position, but players like Amos, Major Tennison, Cameron Latu and Jahleel Billingsley to provide quality depth this fall.

"He’s done a nice job. He’s tough and I think he can play a role for us this year” said Saban of Amos earlier this preseason. “We have got to make improvement at that position. We have guys that have ability. They don’t have a lot of experience. They need to develop confidence in, A., what to do, how to do it, why it’s important to do it that way. And then when they go out there and execute, do it the right way so that develop the confidence that they need to go out and do their job well.

“So, I think we have guys that are capable of doing that. Miller’s probably the only guy that’s sort of old enough that has enough experience that kind of gets it. I think the other guys are going to have to develop that and they’ve made progress. And Giles has done a good job in taking advantage of the opportunity that he has because of the lack of depth that we have at that position. He’s gotten a lot of repetitions and he’s taken advantage of it.”

I replied to him and kept it classy. I told him that it was creepy to tweet at kids and it seemed like we were more of "a hat on the table" since he hasn't visited us since last June.

The dude seems like nothing more than an attention whore to be honest.

I don't think I have ever noticed how many people were really open on that play. I see 3 other options that would have been completions.

Yep! Damian coming out of the backfield and then either Ruggs or Jeudy on the 20 yard dig route.
