Alabama landed its 2021 quarterback last week when Drake Maye announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Wednesday evening.

Milroe was a 2020 or 2021 target? Seems if Young doesn't flip, still no QB for 2020 class

Per 247 Sports:
Maye 6-4 200 - 2021 Natl 107 Pro 7
Milroe 6-1.5 194 - 2021 Natl 84 Dual 3

Seems with only a year and a half until signing day for the 2021 class, Bama only has 1 QB committed or all they intend to accept?

If we can land Young this year and Maye next year to go along with Lia and the others we have on campus, we should be good.

Jalen Milroe is in the 2021 class.

And Kristian Story says hello.

So everyone see the other thread about Tyson being “a joke”? Not a very flattering assessment. Doesn’t help the depth if true.

JMHO, but at the Spring Game Tyson was going against the 1st D (even tho, they were lots of 2nd 1's) and he was totally overmatched. (As one would anticipate with a true freshman). I saw some highlights from his Senior game against Thompson and thought he looked pretty good..but, highlights. And Lia came back against them in the 2nd half to make the Hewitt D look pretty bad, I would guess.
I would really hate for the "joke" to be a true and accurate assessment and not just one bias viewer's opinion (not saying the person who wrote the "joke" comment was bias or such). Hope he gets sometime to wake up during Fall Camp and either he gets it or maybe finds another place to play.
Hoping for the best for all of the QB's and especially Bear's line

It's not surprising that Tyson has struggled early on vs Bama's defense, premature to assume he may be a bust and classless to call him "a joke" imo. He enrolled early. He was going through spring camp at Bama while most kids his age were still in high school.

He's not on scholarship, so no worries.

I've seen him play in person, and he's not a guy who was ever going to start before his 4th or 5th year unless something bad happens to the guys in front of him. He's not bad, but he's lacking in some areas. He's a guy who could be a dangerous qb by the end of his career.

Tyson kind of reminds me of Jake Coker.

I think with what we have seen with QB transfers in recent years and Tyson projecting to be a late career starter at best, even with Story in this class we will need Young or another QB this cycle (if Young doesn't flip) and Bama will also need to get a second QB in 2021 to pair with Maye. Lucky for us the son of a recent Bama coaching legend is part of the 2021 class. LINK

If Young doesn't flip and Story is the only potential QB in this class, I think we could be peeking into the portal for a grad QB in a cycle or two.

If Bama lands Young, they should only need 1 QB next year. It is kinda rare when Bama takes two QB in one class.

To me, the comparison with Coker begins and ends with size. Coker's arm was much stronger. He was also much more mobile (Coker could really run for his size).

Coker did have pretty good wheels.
And he was tough too.

I really liked Coker.. kid became one of my favorite QB’s in the Saban area and he wasn’t that great. Just played his heart out.

It isn't that rare. Bama took 2 QBs in 2010 (Phillip Sims and Blake Sims), 2013 (Bateman and McLeod), 2014 (Cornwell and Coker transferred in), 2017 (Tua and Mac) and 2019 (Lia and Tyson).

I'm just saying with QB transfers being the way they are these days and Story likely ending up at another position, even with Young we will likely need some reinforcements at the position.

Speaking of Coker I use to always laugh how non plussed he would get when he was called unathletic. He was always like "WTF"?
