The narrative that we let Marshall get away is false. His wife didn't wanna come here and he used us to get a pay raise. If anyone thinks sexton or hall is a prima Donna then I guess that's on u. A prima Donna doesn't go from an unranked high school player to lottery pick ..That's busting you're arse. Same for hall , he's worked his butt off. Avery has done a better job of developing players than grant ever did. Duke wanted to fire coach k after year 4 I believe (and no don't melt I didn't say Avery was coach K). This is what u get with freshmen for the most part, we are a better version of what Auburn was last year. I just think it's speaking in absolutes when people say "Avery won't get us to the final 4" or other stuff. I get the frustration but I feel better about these guys then I did the last 2 years.

If you'd told me we'd be tied for 3rd with 18-19 wins and predicted by most people to be a 8/9 seed I'd have been pretty happy.

If the tournament started tomorrow we’d be a seven seed with losses to the bottom three teams in the SEC.

All this, as the third youngest team in the nation.
The Kentucky loss wasn't a bad loss, that was much better than we should have done and the youth showed in the final minutes. This loss however was a bad loss. It should have been closer with the injuries. Keep in mind though, this is a team with only three losses on the season who's probably a 2 seed or higher come tourney time. If we have a major weak point it's Petty and his hot/cold shooting.
These melts are comical at this point and this thread is more bipolar than a teenage girl. We're far more likely now to make the tournament than not with our resume.

Agreed , some can't see past their hot air to look at those facts. It's not about 20 wins anymore.. hell miss st isn't sniffing the tournament unless they win the sec tourney. It's who u play and where u play now. Vanderbilt got in last yr with a record barely over .500 .

You're right, and it is hard to overlook that there is a real chance Alabama will have 0 Wins vs NCAAT field outside Coleman Coliseum
Depending how things shake out, Alabama could be looking at a losing record vs the NCAAT field if UF/OU keep tanking

Our record is 17-11 and our RPI is still 30. I think we have a shot at Dayton even if we lose out.

I don't think the sky is falling. But, I've grown more and more uneasy about the coaching on this team this year. We're a young, but that's not the only problem.
Some games I can't tell what we're even trying to do. Auburn had 7 small guys ready to play. We didn't get any of them into foul trouble and none of them got tired. I know AU likes to run, but nobody likes to run for 40 minutes with no rest. And why the actual fuuuuuck do we start Giddens every game? He's out there for the first two minutes and commits 3 turnovers and 2 fouls and is pulled, every time. Maybe Avery thinks he's putting David Robinson and Tim Duncan on the court, but he's not. It's Hall and Giddens. Not the same thing.
Frustrating team to follow.

We have dumb fans with moronic expectations. I was mad about the loss and how we lost, but come on man. That was a four loss team at home getting favorable officiating.
We have the third youngest team in the NCAA, with the youngest team in the NCAA (Kentucky) having the same struggles with youth that we are having and you have morons doing hottakes about how they should be playing like seniors night in night out.
Petty literally falls apart away from home. We struggle when we aren't front running away from home.

question for you experts. The PG is suppose to get other players involved right? he had 2 assists last night to go along with his 25 points. Any thoughts as I was not able to watch the game. I have seen a number of other games and don't recall him having a lot of assists.

Sorry I'm not giving up on the team because they lost two road games to two tough teams.
This is how dumb this situation has become; the people saying we suck, fire everybody and "NIT!" are the ones getting lauded and those saying the sky isnt fallinh, it was bad but we're okay , we have a strong record and will make the tournament are getting downvoted and attacked.
The absolute worst part is when we do win and make the tournament the ones bashing and cheering NIT, will be the loudest noise makers celebrating it as if they actually supported the team when things didnt go well.
I truly wonder how many of you got through the probation years in football, the Anthony Grant years or even any kind of uncomfortable situation in your daily lives. Smfh

They shut down his driving lane pretty well. Then when he kicks it out you have Petty and Key shooting horribly.
He got little support on the offensive side.
Also what Auburn lacked in size they made up with hustle.
We were rattled and making poor decisions with the ball and not finishing well at the basket.
