This group of players does NOT care. They party win or lose. I’ve heard that from a ton of people that go to UA since a couple years ago.

Epic 40 minutes of Hell battles with Nolan Richardson and Arkansas.

Those were some damn good games. I loved the 40 minutes of hell style. Bama stood toe to toe with them

I still remember when they came to Coleman while they were #1 and we beat them

Bamafan18, as I was watching Fla game on my comfy couch I told my son who loves basketball do not look up to this lazy collection of Bama players. He said Daddy they have no energy. I said son they were probably up all night partying which is a no no when you have a day game on the horizon so I'm thinking your spot on.

Dont know why your statement made me think of this Coach K story.but here it is.

Coach K used to have a coaching clinic leading up to midnight madness (May still have it...been away from coaching awhile now). He would always tell all the HS coaches prior to attending the midnight madness practice they were to stay in the stands and do not get on the court. He emphasized this.

HS coach goes to restroom during the practice and as he comes back in he steps a little onto the court.

Coach K immediately halts practice, commences to chewing the HS coach out...talking about all the money and time they have invested in these guys and he was not going to have a player be injured because someone gets onto the court...and then he kicks the HS coach out of the gym.

Wonder if Avery has ever shown that type of demeanor to his players...they do not appear to fear him or loss of playing time.

His background is in the NBA and his son is graduating. So he’s going back to NOLA.

Bear was AD at Bama & hired Wimp as head coach. He would occasionally come into Wimp's office & ask what's game plan for tonight's game. Wimp would tell him were gonna suffocate the hell out of them on defense, out work em on the boards, they'll probably get frustrated which will put em in foul trouble.

Bryant hired Newton on Adolph Rupp's recommendation. Next hc we hire, we should ask for Thad Matta's input. That man knows how to pick 'em.

Hell, just hire Thad himself. He’s only 51 and in better health supposedly after a year off.

You might as well get in a fight with a part-time employee at Bama Fever. The guy is a joke.

I also remember sitting in front of him in Coleman watching the final 8 HS tourny one year. Andalusia was there with Robert Horry. Wimp was there to watch him. I told a buddy of mine Horry would never make it because he seemed low effort and Wimp would not tolerate that. Well, Horry obviously made it and also Wimp did not tolerate low effort.

I remember thinking the same thing about Horry maybe being a bit overrated at Andalusia due to effort. We played them in HS when he was there.
Horry was obviously the major college top prospect but Andalusia had another front court player --center/power forward that was probably only 6'4" or so but big and strong-- that I recall doing a lot more heavy lifting for that team.
