He was an all-state basketball player in Louisiana who had offers to play both football and basketball in college. Not like this is some random actor doing this.

that's usually written into players' contracts - limiting dangerous activities like skiing, etc. I agree, I don't think a pro team wants their players playing a game where you can twist an ankle pretty easily.
