Irsay has been absent from the last 2-3 owner meetings. He’s rarely been seen in public over the last several months. Each of his daughters have been assigned a role in the Colts organization since 2012. His eldest daughter will be the President/CEO and represents the Colts organization at owners’ meetings.
Jim’s sports and music memorabilia collection has over 500 items of premier highly valuable stuff. He turned down $1 Billion from a Saudi businessman who offered to buy the entire collection. The guitars previously owned by Jerry Garcia, David Gilmour, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Beck, etc .. will eventually get auctioned by Sotheby’s and likely double what he paid
re: Stan Verrett leaving ESPN
Posted by Got Blaze on 5/21/25 at 4:04 pm
Stan is not leaving by choice. The Mickey Mouse network wouldn't renew his contract. Sadly, ESPN did the same thing to Neil Everett back in 2023. Once that happened, it was obvious that ESPN would eventually phase Stan out of his job.
ESPN has been a joke for the last 5-8 yrs. Their current sportscasters & anchors are often times unbearable to watch and listen to.

re: Rhino, Liberty or Browning safe?
Posted by Got Blaze on 5/20/25 at 4:32 pm
the one that has the thickest walls, highest fire rating, and most locking bolts. Liberty makes a solid safe with no fancy thrills. Browning safes are nice, but you often overpay for the name and glitter metallic paint. Buy more safe than you need. A 28-gun safe will only hold 14-16 scoped rifles and shotguns. Buy an oversized 48-56 gun safe once and be done with it. That way you can store ALL your valuables, jewelry, and cash in it. I'd suggest a dial vs. an e-tronic touch pad.

I'm calling BS based on my prior experience. In the early 90's I worked at a gun shop. Customer brought in a used German Weatherby Mk V and put a down payment to have a custom rifle built. My boss ordered the barrel, stock, trigger, etc ... everything the customer wanted. Rifle was completed and we contacted the customer to come pick it up and pay off the balance owed. After 3 months, customer advised he lost his job, couldn't afford the rifle, and gave verbal permission for my boss to sell it. It eventually sold and 2 months later ATF shows up to audit the books. The rifle was reported stolen. Without his knowledge, my boss was in possession of a stolen firearm, which he then sold. My boss got into all kinds of trouble, and it cost him some money.
Whether you're repairing guitars, firearms, Rolex watches, audio equipment, lawn mowers, boat motors, or widgets. Getting caught with stolen goods in your shop/possession is never a good thing. Granted the odds and percentages of this happening are extremely low. However, in today's world, a business owners need to exercise caution as anything is possible with burglaries and home/car invasions happening more frequently.

My brother lives in Covington. He eats out often and can afford it. Said he and his friends never eat at Fuji and wouldn’t recommend it if you want quality food. Go to Zen in Mandeville or BonSake in Covington. With an AYCE, you get what you pay for.
re: Gerry Glasco should be on radar if we look for a softball coach
Posted by Got Blaze on 5/19/25 at 1:48 pm
Glasco is a very good coach and solid recruiter. Last year's UL team (2024) ended Oklahoma's 71-game winning streak. He gets the most out of his players and teaches fundamental softball. UL ranked #1 nationally in double plays turned and top 20 in BA last year.
Glasco has coached at Georgia (2009-2014), Texas A&M (2015-17), and Auburn (2017) before earning the head coaching job at Louisiana in 2018. He made appearances in the Women's College World Series with Georgia twice and with Auburn. Glasco has never missed an NCAA Regional in his 16 years as a collegiate coach, including this year in Lubbock.
Tech made a home run hire, and 2 boosters/alumni opened the checkbook to sign players. Canady's NIL deal is worth over $1M, and she has 1 more year remaining.
UL's record this year was 23-23, the 2nd worst record and winning percentage in program history. Yvette Girouard finished 6-14 in 1981, first year UL fielded a softball team. Unfortunately, the record books will list Alyson Habetz as the HC. She inherited a program in disarray as 8 key starters left the program when Glasco departed for Tech. UL had previously won 89 consecutive SunBelt series - 11 years in a row. This year they won 3 series and lost 4.

Truly a shame the D&C Sphere shows aren’t broadcast on Nugs. Pretty sure all video production of the Shpere residency shows was shot down by owner James Dolan and MSG Entertainment .
re: JTS Airacuda Standard - PCP Air Rifle
Posted by Got Blaze on 5/17/25 at 6:27 pm
I own/shoot a DayState Harrier X .22 and an FX Mk II .30 cal PCP rifles. The DayState is crazy accurate and the FX delivers the Hammer of Thor. Keep doing your research and call dealers such as Airguns of Arizona or whoever sells what you’re interested in. PCP rifles are a blast to shoot
re: Y'all recommend Bamarep a decent entry level over/under
Posted by Got Blaze on 5/17/25 at 11:45 am
I’ve been in your shoes before. If you buy a $700 entry level O/U , you’re gonna be handicapped from the beginning at each shooting station. A Tri-Star or Yildiz can only take you so far since the machining, fitting/assembly, and tolerances are crude compared to $3000+ shotguns.
I would go to 3-4 local shooting clubs in your area. Ask for the club president or someone who puts on the shooting events. Introduce yourself and explain your situation. See if they have a bulletin board where members advertise guns they’re selling. Most dedicated shooters are always looking to upgrade and sell their current O/U.
You’d be ahead of the game and have tons of confidence with a like new, used Beretta 686, Silver Pigeon, Browning Citori, 725, etc.. purchased for $1200-$1500.
Just my opinion as I bought a used 725 that was priced in my spending budget

re: What are some dos and donts of tailgating at an LSU game?
Posted by Got Blaze on 5/12/25 at 5:39 pm
Tailgating is an all-day marathon that can last from 10:00am to well past midnight. Eat and drink in moderation. Do NOT get Fk'd up drunk by mid-afternoon and end up passing out, missing the entire atmosphere of Death Valley on a Saturday night.

Very nice Series 80 1911.
Aftermarket hammer, sear, internals, springs, beaver tail grip, extended safety, and trigger are likely Wilson Combat or Ed Brown. In the early 90’s, there were only 4-5 companies that offered aftermarket custom gun parts for the 1911. You had to buy from Brownell’s or direct from the manufacturer. Around 1992, I customized a Series 70 Combat Commander that looks similar to your pistol. Enjoy that new toy

Really ? Dude went from CFB all-American as a FR to leaving USC 3 games into his sophomore campaign.
As a Freshman, Marinovich led the Trojans to a 9–2–1 record, won the Pac-10 Conference, and defeated Michigan in the 1990 Rose Bowl. UPI and Sporting News named Marinovich the College Freshman of the Year for 1989; he was the only freshman on the All-Pac-10 team and the first freshman QB named.
Marinovich entered the 1990 season as a Heisman Trophy candidate, with speculation on his leaving school early for the NFL. Marinovich admitted to doing Cocaine, LSD, and amphetamines days and nights before games.
Due to his abysmal performance, after 2 games he was benched. A week later he left USC and quit college. Still managed to be drafted in the 1st rd by the Raiders.

Todd Marinovich. … raised by a father who was a control freak. During his adolescence and teeanage years, TM was on a strict workout plan and had never eaten fast food until he got to college. Then when he got to USC, he turned into Jeff Spicoli and partied like a rock star. Pretty sure ESPN did a 30 for 30 on his life story.
