ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12 Officially Announce Their ‘Alliance’
© Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports
In response to the SEC continuing to grow as the dominant conference, the ACC, Big Ten and Pac-12 officially announced their "Alliance" on Tuesday...
quote:

“The football scheduling alliance will feature additional attractive matchups across the three conferences while continuing to honor historic rivalries and the best traditions of college football,” the statement reads. “In women’s and men’s basketball, the three conferences will add early and mid-season games as well as annual events that feature premier matchups between the three leagues.”
Full statement below. Thoughts?

I think it's supposed to work like european soccer. Their best team will get promoted to the SEC for a year.

Unless these marquee matchups include teams with winning records, no one will give a crap about the alliance.

Well what the hell are they supposed to do? The SEC was already the best conference and the addition of Tx and OU just furthers that. At some point they have to align or become irrelevant.

If they figure out a way for the west coast public to get interested in college football again. There is a lot of money there

This probably all but guarantees the SEC steals Clemson and FSU. Maybe Ohio State and Michigan too.

The 41 team Alliance has what? 6 consistent top 25 programs? Oregon, Washington, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Iowa and Clemson.
