Basic Pistol Training

Posted by BatonRougeBuckeye on 3/28/26 at 4:49 pm
I’m in need of a basic pistol course around Baton Rouge. I’m talking very basic. I own a 9mm handgun but have never been trained in its proper use and do not feel comfortable handling it at all. Recommendations?
You had me at DUMB MICHIGAN WOMAN!
Last year I built some raised garden beds and the plants did pretty well. Could have done better if I could keep the raccoons and rabbits out of them. Thinking about building some kind of cover but open to other ideas. What is the best way to keep the pests out?

I came through NOLA airport on Thursday and there were no lines. Headed back today from Columbus, OH and No lines.
What do you use on ants in raised garden beds where chemicals would be prohibited? I dumped four pots of boiling water on them yesterday and today they have rebuilt the mound. Dudes won't go way.

Nail Gun for fence work

Posted by BatonRougeBuckeye on 2/22/26 at 7:02 pm
Im rebuilding about 100 feet of fence and want to purchase a nail gun for the job. Not sure if a pneumatic gun with a small compressor is better or perhaps a Dewalt with battery. Ideas, suggestions, or recommendations welcome.
That happened to me. It was the thermocouple but was just corroded and once cleaned with wire brush worked fine.

I think you are correct. Personally, I hate this new world that we live in where you rebuild your roster (between commits and portal guys) every off-season, but thats where we are.
Did not go cedar because the fence i was removing was more than 20 years old (pressure treated pine) and was still in reasonably good shape. Only replaced because a tree fell and crashed a good portion and wanted to replace it all. Did about 250 linear feet and added an additional gate. price was about 6k.
There's clearly a pattern here as Ted Ginn Jr was named coach of the Columbus OH team.
Never going to happen. Looking for a bag and Phil Knight has the biggest one. he will end up at Oregon especially now that Brian Hartline has left OSU.

Kiffin would be the most hated man in Oxford should this happen

All depends on which Ryan Day shows up. If he's hell bent on proving OSU is tough and wants to run up the middle all day we lose. If he lets Julian Sayin air it out to all the 5 star WR then we win.

Fence Rebuild - UPDATE

Posted by BatonRougeBuckeye on 11/3/25 at 7:40 am
Looking for somebody to rebuild a fence in the Baton Rouge area. Aside from the big players in the fence world does anyone have a recommendation?

[b][i]For anybody interested, I ended up using Highland Fence and they did an amazing job. Tore down the existing fence and hauled it away and rebuilt a new fence in its place. Absolutely wonderful job and only took a few days. Would highly recommend these guys for anyone needing fence work.[/b

Giving me 2006 vibes where they didn’t play anyone and got boat raced by Florida in the ‘ship.

I realize it doesn’t matter at this point but in 2006 OSU beat #1 Texas at Texas and #2 Michigan so spare me with the talk of them not playing anyone. But yes they did get boat raced against Florida.

Im convinced you only posted this to see how many downvotes you would get. Nobody likes that pizza!

Yeah, I don't know how you go from seizing all momentum in the game to completely falling apart in the second half. It made no sense.

The momentum you speak of was based off 2 costly INTs by TAMU and one bad (although correct) personal foul penalty that extended an LSU drive resulting in a TD. I said at the half that if A&M stops turning the ball over and quits with stupid penalties they would win the game. Of course i didnt quite expect THAT!
