Dick Vitale Got Handsy With Bobby Knight During His Emotional Return To Indiana

I was in Bloomington the afternoon that frickstick Myles Brand fired him. It was done after a setup by a kid whose dad was a very anti-Knight member of the media in Indy. My parents were in town and we rushed them out of town. That night the campus damn near burned down. When they made the Final Four the next season the cops were über sensitive. After ripping out a tree and delivering it to Brand's house the crowd was met with cops blasting tear gas where the celebration had begun. It was an absolutely crazy 2 years to live through in that town. Knight got screwed and I'm glad the university was able to reconcile with him in what looks like the twilight of his life.

I know Knight is in bad health, but that whole thing was awkward. Great to see his old players there, but it wasn't as emotional as I thought it would be. The crowd cheered but it wasn't deafening. Again, a bit awkward.

Of course Dick is there to put his big ugly face on TV. What an attention whore.
