soccer is going to hit a big strong brick wall when we fail to qualify for the 2022 world cup again. I will book mark this post for when it happens. Playing for your country is hard enough. Including politics about what you feel is bad about your country and then going to play the games is poison for the team. We will do worse in qualifying than we did in the 2018 cycle. In addition, there is a large conservative fan base for the sport (like myself) who is going to leave with the politics being injected into it in the last 3y.

Too bad you can’t bookmark this shite response claremontrich. We will qualify for 2022.

MLB season needs to be cut in half. And make all playoff series 5 games. Also bring back 10 cent beer nights.

This is why you don't play 182 games a year.

Is baseball dying? I no longer care. Same sentiment for the NFL & NBA.

Everything will decline the longer this racism BS goes on. People are tuning out anythi g that preaches a political message. That's the kind of thing that sports are supposed to give us a break from.

Step One: actually play the games (will happen soon enough) Step Two: Don't go political to piss off the majority of your fans (they might screw this part up)

Step 3. Hire Lenny Dykstra and Aubrey Huff to top executive positions in the MLB front office.
user avatar
Step 4: Stop with all this launch angle and spin rate bullshite. Make them actually play baseball instead of trying to hit home runs or strike out trying every at bat.

This is somewhat misleading. The poll asks what is your "favorite" sport. I have loved playing, teaching, coaching, and watching baseball with a passion since I was 5 y/o, but my favorite sport to watch has been college football for many years.

I'll tell you how they're gonna save baseball: by arguing over money and being forced by the commissioner to have a season that the players are going to half-arse, then strike next year over CBA negotiations.

Basketball is the actual joke and should be destroyed. It’s agenda is corrupt and anti American in many ways.

A bunch of guys getting paid in a pretty wide open market? Sounds All-American to me.

It’s not an open market. It has a rookie pay scale and max contracts. Sounds pretty socialistic actually.

Stats somewhat misleading to me. It says what is your favorite sport. My favorite (and that of many sports fans) is football, but I love watching baseball too.

That big jump for baseball in the mid 90s. Thank you Bobby, Smoltz, Maddox & Co.

Where are the NHL fans? I'm actually surprised that baseball and basketball are as close as they are on the graph.

Bye bye baseball. One of the most boring sports on the planet. Also the idea that soccer is on the rise is starting to border on an urban myth. We hear this every 5 years and no one actually watches soccer in the US.

maybe make it more exciting to watch, and make it available for youth

“This Graph Shows You...” & “this graph quietly reminds” that you will forever stay Larry Literate, Larry.

What this graph shows is that starting I. 1972, football took over as our national pastime. This leaves other sports with about a 10 percent share.

Maybe sports over all is declining. For instance, younger crowd doesn't go to sporting events especially on pro level. NFL loses TV revenue. They will be hurting.

The graph literally shows the other sports are not declining (in favorite to watch % points)

Baseball was very fun to play I played from tee ball up until 12th grade and loved it but I can’t watch baseball on TV unless Bama is in the regionals, super regionals, or at Omaha. Watching baseball on TV is kinda dull, slow paced, and unfulfilling........jmho.
