LSU defensive tackle is no longer on the LSU Football team, according to Shea Dixon.
Mitchell, a former four-star prospect from Oradell, N.J., transferred to LSU this past offseason.
The 6’6, 350-pounder did not appear in LSU's first two games this season. He played in five games with the Longhorns last year.
Mitchell was initially recruited to Austin by Bo Davis, who then recruited him to LSU when he was coaching the defensive line for the Tigers. Davis ultimately left the staff to take a job with the Saints after Mitchell transferred to LSU.
