Cole Cubelic of the SEC Network posted updated 2026 Heisman Trophy odds on Twitter Monday, with new LSU transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt coming in with the 6th-best odds at 13/1.
Leavitt is coming off a 2025 campaign that was cut short due to a Lisfranc foot injury he suffered on Sept. 20 against Baylor, followed by season-ending surgery in late October.
Through seven games in 2025, Leavitt completed 145 of 239 passes for 1,628 yards with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions, and added 306 rushing yards with five rushing scores.
Leavitt posted strong numbers in 2024, throwing for 2,885 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions while adding 443 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground. He started all 13 games and led the Sun Devils to the College Football Playoff and a Big 12 title appearance.
LSU head coach Lane Kiffin recently said that Leavitt will be able to throw in the spring and participate in 7-on-7, but "not team stuff," as he recovers ahead of the 2026 season.
