Two reasons stick out:
- seems to be factual at this point that Venezuela ran an amnesty program dedicated to deporting their worst to the United States. Not to say it doesn’t happen with Mexico and Colombia too, but the scale and coordination by Venezuela is much more damaging to relations
- China is closest with Venezuela out of the three. If intelligence is correct, Venezuela is harboring agents conducting operations against the US. Given China is our largest geo-political enemy, any amount of truth behind the intelligence holds a lot of weight.

So what if it’s bound for Trinidad or Antigua? 50+ years of assessing and influencing the Caribbean drug trade tells decision makers that the substances will largely end up in the United States. But it’s foolish to believe there are no ulterior motives behind them either.

The other piece that is never talked about is the investment required to configure AI to replace those jobs. Too many people, including BoTs and executives, have this warped idea that you just plug it in and turn it on, with zero development, QA or maintenance resources to support it. I’m exploring it for a single application I oversee and the cost it nearly $800,000 for a project team. And that is just one of 100 applications regularly used within my org.

Emigration from the northeast as a whole should be banned, with an explicit exception process. These people are so out of touch with reality that it is almost incomprehensible at this point. The best part is when you actually confront these people in person, they fold like a cheap tent. They are incapable of understanding economic and geopolitical complexities and anyone who has a basic understanding of them has the ability to demonstrate it and immediately put these people in place. They are only powerful on the internet where they can bask in anonymity- which is ironic because they then complain that MAGA is nothing more than a 4chan idea.

I think he’s pointing out that the media is more upset about a Jew from the 40s being an object of satire while they have no issue with an American conservative in modern day being an object of satire.
