Patriots Head Coach Mike Vrabel Comments On Will Campbell After Super Bowl Loss

Despite Will Campbell's rough outing in the Super Bowl this past Sunday, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel said Tuesday that they are sticking with the former LSU lineman at left tackle.

Campbell struggled in pass protection vs. the Seahawks, giving up 14 pressures of quarterback Drake Maye, and had a false start penalty.

Maye, who wasn't playing at 100 percent, took six sacks, threw two interceptions, and lost a fumble in the loss.

Campbell suffered a knee ligament tear during a Week 12 win against the Bengals, which caused him to miss over a month. He returned in Week 18, but he was not at 100 percent for the playoffs.

He was hurt in week 12, missed 6 weeks and returned because his team was primed for a Super Bowl run being the #1 seed. He definitely struggled but let’s not act like everyone is 100% at this point of the year.
You can tell he was not able to stand ground out there. This helps him though, nothing wrong with failing.

That’s a stupid assessment. You don’t just snap back from a knee injury especially since you started back playing 4 weeks after injury. His team made it to the SB with him playing. I say he did pretty good

The bottomline is this, he was the starting LT for his team until he got hurt. Came back from injury and his team got to the Superbowl. He struggled against some of the best of the best, but has his whole career ahead of him. Will will be fine!

I watched him all year and he was getting better each week. That knee injury sucked but he really struggled against elite rushers down the stretch. Which is pretty common for rookies.
