LSU Board of Supervisors Chair Scott Ballard and board member John Carmouche held a press conference on Friday morning to officially introduce interim LSU Athletics Director Verge Ausberry.

During the press conference, Ballard revealed that there is no timeline to hire a new permanent athletics director and that the priority and primary focus is on finding a new head coach.

The Board of Supervisors will officially announce a new university president on Tuesday, according to Ballard. They have narrowed it down to three finalists for the job.

Ausberry said that they assembled a coach search committee, which includes Ballard, Carmouche, as well as Ben Bordelon (Bollinger Shipyards CEO), E.J. Kuiper (FMOL Health President and CEO), and another member yet to be named.

You can watch Friday's press conference here.

LOL! Dude caught lightning in a bottle in 2019. All he had to do was stand there assume his mascot HC role. He is at best a d-line coach for NCAA/NFL. He would be a great HS head coach.

This is dumb af. No timeline for an AD, meaning the new AD won’t have been allowed to hire his new football coach. either that or we get stuck with Ausberry as an AD. LSU is a clown show

wtf do any of these Business people have in terms of football knowledge? Curly Hallman looked like a good choice back when but people overlooked that he had Brett Favre as his qb. Clark Lea looks good now but he has Pavia so there are stupid choices that can be made! Hopefully somebody who knows Jack Shite about football has a say so!!

Just let the governor leads the clowns. When they get ugly, go for the jugular.

Jeff Landry needs to stay in his lane and attempt to govern the state. LSU football is not in his job task!

They need football people hiring a coach. Not this board which includes a member who has a kid on the roster. Nepotism at its finest

Ben Bordelon.. the man caught up in the middle of the special tax credit for people that own big boats, what a blatant corrupt appointment

Be prepared to be near the bottom of the football world for a while.

The handling of this entire situation has been a dumpster fire. The governor inserting himself into something he knows little to nothing about was icing on the cake.

100% agree. The governor and plaintiff attorneys are running LSU athletics. Let that sink in

This much oversight is what Kelly was avoiding

No wonder he phoned it in this year
