Statement from LSU coach Lane Kiffin on Charlie Weis coaching Ole Miss during the playoffs….

“With the playoff committee releasing updated rankings tonight, I wanted it to be known that after conversations with LSU, we are allowing Charlie to return to Ole Miss to coach the team during the playoffs. I've already made the committee aware of this and I’m hopeful this decision will allow Ole Miss to receive the highest ranking possible because these great players are very deserving of that. I’m excited that Charlie will be back to help coach the greatest team in the history of Ole Miss.”

The reason Ole Miss did not want Kiffen to coach in the playoffs is because they can always say, "We would have won it all if Lane had stayed"!!

Trying to lessen the blow from the national media.

LOVE how he keeps pumping them as the greatest team of all time. It probably is, but he isn't going to let ANYONE forget who did all that heavy lifting. We got a mastermind gang, BK looks like an angry toddler compared to Kiff.

I agree with you. But then you have to throw in the BK stuff. Just let that stuff go.

Hey Pawlll!!! Who's really looking like a**hole now? The guy letting his play caller coach the rival in CFP or the guy who acted to entitled to over look his hubris and let lane (and staff) finish the job... IMO if I were AD at a school who hadnt played for a title Id offer to drive kiffin to BR myself... AFTER HE won the whole f*cking thing. To me ome miss is acting like a team who has won something before, not like a group whos HUNGRY for a title. (To be clear I dont think the rebels could win it all with kiffin even in place.) But going back 2003 if some one told me saban would be leaving after the title game, I think most tiger fans would "accept it" as long as we ended champions for the 1st time in 50 years.

We look all the better. And it's a wonderful gesture by us.

So now we know for a fact the AD is a little bitch

so now that the Ole Piss AD has had some time to calm down and breathe he realizes its in his best interest to let his coaches finish the job. lol. I guarantee if he would not had already named Golding as the Permanent HC that CLK would have also been asked to return.

Freeze's 2014-2015 teams would have pimp slapped any of Lane's teams.

9-3 Ole Miss that lost to 24th ranked LSU that year? Lost 30-0 to Arkansas?

The 2025 UM team would have scored 49 points on any 2014 era team before halftime. The game has evolved and UM’s 2014 defense would have looked like a High School team against the current team.

I thought the AD told all the assistants that if they were going for to LSU they could leave now. Was that BS?

Wait, they’ll allow Charlie to Coach, even though he’s coming to LSU but not Lane? Seems like they’re a little confused in Oxford. I’d say nope he’s staying where he is and yall figure it out.

I think the 1962 Rebs would beg to differ...any Coach Vaught happily stayed the whole season, mind you.

The schedule was no where what it is now and that’s the biggest driver now of coaches jumping earlier.
