College Football analyst Greg McElroy was on ESPN's 'Get Up' Thursday morning and discussed LSU's season opener at Clemson on Saturday.

McElroy predicted that LSU will struggle against Clemson's defensive front and that quarterback Garrett Nussmeier will throw two or more interceptions. Ultimately, McElroy said that Clemson will win on Saturday. Per On3:
quote:

“Garrett Nussmeier throws two-plus interceptions,” McElroy said on Thursday morning’s edition of ‘Get Up.’ I look at this offensive line for the LSU Tigers, I think they’re going to struggle against an elite defensive front for Clemson. We’ve seen in the past, Garrett Nussmeier in big moments will press. I also don’t know how committed to the run LSU will be to take the pressure off the passing game. So, he throws in traffic couple times, gets picked off a couple times. Clemson wins the game.”

Well, that's just like ... your opinion Greg.

But seriously I hope everyone picks against us. Best thing that can happen.

Winning is the best thing that can happen. Who picks who is irrelevant.

Winning the natty is more important than a single game. Who wins this game is irrelevant.

You really think thisssss ?? naw you’re mistaken, in a dub you grow! sure in a defeat also, but you still have to improve more from a loss !

If anybody knows bad qb play, it’s Greg McElroy.

"I think they’re going to struggle against an elite defensive front for Clemson." This is a fair assessment. The jury is still out on our O-Line. They have two potential 1st round draft picks on their d-line.

Except I still dont know how they are suddenly elite when they finished 85th last year and at bottom of ACC against the run..with same guys coming back. Maybe they are elite, but going to have to show me. Also...saying nuss presses....yes Greg, in his first season as a starter he pressed sometimes without a running game....he just ad likely makes a huge jump. No one really knows just a lot of opinions. We will know soon enough.

And oh yeah...where were those 2 first rounders last year for them?

This is a great topic of discussion. Those two guys got half of their stats in 2 games last year. And they also acquired better coaching in the offseason. This could really impact their defense this year. It’s all about the o-line and the play calling. That place is going to be louder than it’s ever been. Wish this year we played them at home and next year on the road.

Poster child of Bama Hate for me….cant stand him. I reluctantly admit I grew to like Tua and Hurts, even had a level of respect for McCaron, but this guy is a deushe.

Clemson's "elite" defense only produced 1 more sack than LSU's defense did last year. And, they played more games. On the flip side, Klubnik was sacked 23 times as opposed to 16 for Nuss. Our defense, especially the front line, is markedly more talented then last year. Perhaps, the conversion should be how well will Clemson's OL hold up against our defense!

EXACTLY!!!

This isn’t an outrageous take. Our offensive line is new and getting thrashed at practice, Nuss (like most quarterbacks) is much worse when under constant pressure (see Bama and second half at A&M), and the crowd noise will play a role. Just because we don’t want to hear it doesn’t mean it’s not sound logic.

I mean, I can't blame him for making that prediction with the inexperienced O-line that we will have.

May or may not throw 2 picks, but they will struggle in trenches. Field position and early breaks loom large. L Tigers need to play their best all four quarters.

I just don’t get how they say Clemson has an elite D Line? They didn’t have one last year and they got the same people.

For some odd reason I feel better if everyone picks Clemson than I would if they pick LSU. Like it seems LSU wins more games when they are picked against.
