LSU head coach Ed Orgeron had a very straightforward answer when he was asked Wednesday night what his greatest need for the 2018 recruiting class was?

Lineman. And more lineman.

LSU currently has six defensive line prospects and three offensive line prospects committed for the class of 2018.

Make that lots of high quality very large fast linemen. Not a bunch of projects with offers from directional schools and Kansas.

Shouldn't be a hard sell. Looks like we'll have plenty of openings. Early playing time will attract a lot of top prospects!

I'm not gonna flip over it- but the Dline has been his responsibility for a few years now. Oline is on Grimes. Dline is on O. We just simply missed on a ton of Dlineman and had a mass exodus of transfers at Oline.

Hasn't he only been here since last season. He was out of coaching for two years prior to that.....and we made him the HC.

Add an elite OT out of HS and a JUCO OT that is ready to play next Fall. Rest of targets - Marshall, Surtain, Joiner, etc - will round out this class nicely. GT!

Elite offensive linemen who will be ready to play in their first season, at least by the meat of the SEC schedule. DL for depth would be great, too.

I have been a season ticket holder of tickets in section 301 row 22 for 15 years. I gave them up this year. Mainly because of what I see every year. Coaches that always say it's my fault. My bad we have to get better. Same thing every year. Fans that pay serious money to this program want people to be accountable. I'm sure if they were they wouldn't be so quick to say my bad we have to get better. Truly I'm a big fan and I'm sure with all the changes we have had this year screwed up our recruiting I'm just tired of all the next years.

Large, strong, tall, fast, smart multi talented athletes who could, if called on. serve in a variety of roles. Pass defense and pass receiver for example.............I own a copy of the great writer and tiger Budd Johnson's THE PERFECT SEASON (LSUs MAGIC YEAR - 1958) Coach Paul Dietzel was a strategist of a high even military order. I would study his blueprint with vigor! right away

No more multi talented/move all over the line type guys. How about some pure tackles, guards and a center. Specialists.
