Update:
Shea Patterson has committed to Ole Miss.

Original:
Five-star pro-style quarterback Shea Patterson from Shreveport, Louisiana (Calvary Academy) will announce his college decision Tuesday at 12pm CT.

Patterson is the No. 1 pro-style quarterback in the country and the No. 1 player from the state of Louisiana, according to Rivals.

The 6-2, 195-pound prospect holds offers from most major college football programs from around the country but Ole Miss, LSU, and USC are believed to be at the top of his list, according to the ShreveportTimes.com:
quote:

Ole Miss, Southern Cal and LSU are thought to be near the top of Patterson’s list, but other top offers include Alabama, Auburn, Arizona, Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

“Playing time is huge. But I really want to go in with a coaching staff that I can work with and have good relationships with,” Patterson said in an early February interview with The Times. “I want to be comfortable with a quarterbacks coach that I work with day in and day out.

“Is it comfortable in all aspects from the atmosphere to inside the football offices to the offense? I want to go somewhere that’s going to get me the most NFL ready.

OK, not up to date here. Where is his brother, is he still on our staff?

nope. Ole Miss staff now. Wish he would commit here, but he's most likely going with his brother to Ole Miss

Its the shreverport connection & I hope not playing Harris doesn't come back to bite Miles!! When was the last time we had a curly haired QB on our roster?

"Why would he come to a program that can't develop QBs?" I get it, I really do but I'm sick of everyone just casting aside 2012 and 2013. That's the only 2 year period in the 100 year history of LSU football has ever had back to back 2500 yd plus passing seasons.

I know. Why would he go to a school that hasn't developed a QB out of high school since Eli Manning? Quick, name the last full time starting QB for Ole Miss that wasn't a transfer or JUCO?

Less and staff continue to do a poor job recruiting in North Louisiana. They've pretty much said "to hell with them" to N La players before they've even committed.

Well with that very last statement he made about the NFL why is everyone so worried about OM?? No way he goes to OM if that's what he truly wants? A staff that gets him ready for the NFL? That would be LSU hands down Shea! I'm not bias here BAMA fan so it's def LSU.

I would take Cam Cameron over his brother as a QB coach any day of the week. Hell is his brother even 30 yet? What a freaking joke? And the family is using the son to get his brother a better job. What happens if the kid throws 22 picks his sophomore season? Is his brother fired then?

"Less and staff continue to do a poor job recruiting in North Louisiana. They've pretty much said "to hell with them" to N La players before they've even committed." You sound ignorant.

Here comes the "North Louisiana is ignored by LSU" crap again. LSU has recruited North Louisana just as hard as it has anywhere else. Truth be known, many North Lousiana kids just aren't as loyal to LSU as the kids in Central and South Louisiana. In Shea Patterson's case the kid isn't even from Louisiana to begin with and it seems that he is playing games with his recruitment to help his brother out. LSU has more loyalty from Felipe Franks who lives in Florida but has family ties to Louisiana. Franks WANTS to be at LSU. I'm pleased with him and happy he is committed to LSU. Patterson on the other hand may commit to whoever today but they will have to sweat out his commitment until signing day. Good Luck to Mr Patterson.

The last 2 LA quarterbacks that opted for ole miss were developed into a h-back/tight end and wildcat backup.
