On Friday, LSU head coach Brian Kelly and running back coach Frank Wilson visited with four-star running back James Simon.

The 6-2, 200-pound prospect from Shreveport, La., is one of the top recruits in Louisiana for the class of 2025.

LSU already holds a commitment from five-star running back Harlem Berry, the No. 1 running back in the country for 2025. Landing both Berry and Simon would be a major haul for coach Wilson and the Tigers.

For more info on Simon, visit his profile page on our 2025 Recruiting Tracker.

Looks like a good one. He should be around L. Fournette's size when he arrives.

This guy and Ford then call it a day at RB. These guys are the prototype LSU RB. Just like Jackson. I’m really excited to see Jackson play the next two years. He’s going to be extremely difficult to beat out. The kid has it all. Vision, speed, power, catching ability, cut ability, balance and is quick to the point of attack. Gives him a huge advantage because guys are still not in good position when he gets to them. Lots of arm tackles that miss and when they do get square to him, he can spin or cut. Dude is a very good old school type RB who brings the pain. I love it! We’ve been missing the physical aspect to our offense for a while now. Then we have all these great TEs and RBs to bring even more physicality. This offense is going to be scary!

Are you referring to Caden Durham 2024 from Duncanville? Because he has already signed his NLI.

I really like Simon. His "jump cut"/footwork in traffic is elite for a HS kid.

Frank Wilson brings more value to the LSU program than many people who make multiples of his salary.
