Four-star pro-style passer Grant Gunnell from Houston, TX committed to Arizona and new head coach Kevin Sumlin this week over offers from LSU, Ohio State, and many others.

Gunnell was a one-time Texas A&M commit when Sumlin was still the head coach in College Station but de-committed when Jimbo Fisher was hired.

The 6-6, 220-pound prospect from St Pius X High School in Houston is rated the No. 3 pro-style quarterback in the country for the class of 2019, according to 247Sports and Rivals.

Hey Solo, Gunnell was committed to A&M until they fired Sumlin. Then he decommitted and his 1st visit was to Arizona to see Sumlin. He didn't decommit from Orgeron. Gunnell decommitted from Jimbo. Say what you want but that is a fact.

He’s gonna enjoy the 2 years Sumlin is there until Sumlin gets fired again.

Honestly, this might be a "too much depth at the position for me to get meaningful playing time" situation. At the QB position. At LSU. WTH!

1 or 2 seasons before he transfers?

Good. LSU has talented QBs. With Joe Burrow coming in it will give the needed time for the other QBs to develop. The kid obviously wants to play for Sumlin so goodbye.

Yeah great news when we didn’t sign a Qb in ‘18 and now our #1 target in ‘19 is going elsewhere. Makes a ton of sense

We have TWO very talented and highly rated QBs at LSU behind Burrow. Both need another year of preparation. This will give them the oportunity to learn and grow physically. If you don't understand this then you are simply a nitwit.

Uh Tayback, I believe Orgeron beat Sumlin twice. As much as some of you Rant numbskulls hate Orgeron, he has done a good job so far. If Orgeron has success then so does LSU.

His high school coach has been hired at Arizona in an off the field role as a quality control guy.

Good luck to him. LSU depth probably scared him off.

We don't need this guy, as far as I'm concerned he can go roast in Arizona. We have Jeaux Burreaux!!
