Brian Kelly and the LSU coaching staff landed a big-time commitment on Thursday from four-star cornerback Javien Toviano.

The Arlington, Texas, native picked the Tigers over Texas, Texas A&M, and Michigan.

Toviano, a 6-1, 185-pound prospect from James Martin High School, is rated the No. 6 cornerback in the country and the No. 9 overall player from the state of Texas for the class of 2023, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

He becomes LSU's fourth cornerback commitment in the 2023 class and 25th verbal pledge for the Tigers this cycle.

Forget the number of stars! He'll be a star when he proves his talents on the field. And of course, the tutorage from Brian Kelly's staff will only enhance the chances of that. Geaux Tigers! And welcome aboard, young Tiger!

The video headline "5 star. The article headline "4 star". I used to think people were salty about how guys lose a star when committing to LSU but it's getting kinda obvious now. No biggie. The 2019 squad loved them some 4 star and under guys... even chase probably ended up a 4star by signing day

It’s based on two different recruiting services . Rivals has him as a 5 and 247 has him as a 4 . This website goes by 247
