Ed Orgeron and the LSU coaching staff received some great news on Sunday when Houston cornerback Marcus Banks announced his commitment to the Tigers.

Banks, who took his official visit to LSU this weekend, chose the Tigers over offers from Texas A&M, Texas, Alabama, Auburn, and many others.

LSU now has 12 verbal commits for the class of 2019 with the addition of Banks.

He just did an interview on 104.5 and sounds like a good down to earth kid. His dad played for Bobby Bowden so he obviously has some good genes. Glad to have him aboard.

I'll bet big money that it has a lot to do with him not going to these national camps and not his play on the field. Plus his ranking is hardly finalized, he will be a top 20 CB by the end of it all.

With him, Hampton, and hopefully Stingley and Bush, we will be loaded with great CBs in this 2019 class.

With "welcome aboard", I thought he signed something. A verbal commitment isn't the same as enrolling. He isn't aboard yet.

Right now. Did you happen to check out his offer list? Oh and Greedy was ranked as the 20th CB when he signed with LSU. I saw an article last week predicting him to be a top 10 pick in the next NFL draft. Offer list: LINK

He did. His mother: "“We are done with recruiting,” Banks-Meeks said. “We had an Alabama official visit scheduled for next weekend, but we cancelled it this morning" LINK

Great news until he decides he isn’t committed. It’s not news until national signing day.

In other news, Scarlett Johansson told HueyP she wanted to "get together" with him. He thought, "Darn! I'll probably have to take her to dinner first."
