LSU freshman forward Emmitt Williams announced Thursday afternoon that he has declared for the 2019 NBA Draft.

He becomes LSU's fifth player to declare for the draft, joining freshmen Naz Reid and Javonte Smart, sophomore Tremont Waters, and junior Skylar Mays who already announced their intentions to turn pro.

The Fort Myers, FL native averaged 7.0 points and 5.4 rebounds during the 2018-2019 season.

He is the first one that I think this is a bad decision for his basketball career... Now, he may know something we don't know yet and he may be getting out while he has a chance. But he would have benefited greatly from being a starter for a year.

Pretty sure there are more LSU basketball players declaring for the draft than there are democrats declaring their bid for the presidency at this point.

Good Luck Emmitt! Basketball was fun to watch this past year with all this talent however non of the players that are leaving are NBA ready. Overseas bound basketball for just about all of them.

We won’t win a game next year. With it without wade we are going to suck. Might as well fire WW and start this trash fire over.

Ok boys. I think they now have a room for a 43 year old, 6'2" power forward with a solid 17 inch vertical.

i guess we are back to mediocrity now... cellar dwelling to the max, per the norm... if Wade does come back, we'll see how good of a coach he is next season, when he has to turn chicken shite into chicken salad...

He pretty much did that last season. So we know how good a coach he is. Even if Williams, Smart and Mays leave, LSU isn't bare. Cooper, Days and Hyatt are all pretty good players and as long as he brings in a descent recruiting class LSU will not be cellar dwellers. Manning is SEC ready and will be a very good player. Bishop may need time to develop, but LSU will have a descent team even if all those go pro and he misses on some recruits.

He’s not going to be drafted at all. He didn’t even start. What kind of advice is he getting?

Can't you declare and just come back anyway in BBall? It's diff from football. If so, he has nothing to lose
user avatar

stowns, as long as he doesn't sign with a agent I believe.

the rule changed. he can have an agent even and still decide to return but has to do so before the draft.

This proves that Wade is coming back.

It proves that the Admin... mainly the AD hasn't told these kids one damn credible thing. They getting off the ship and taking their chances in the 'whatever league' that will pay them.

He’s also the fifth player to start off his announcement with the word “first.”

NBA has a dress code. Won’t let him roll his shorts under. Should have stayed in school.
