Exactly why I laughed at those people who doubted this guy when two championship head coaches (who see him everyday) left him at his position and played at that position since he was a freshman. At a really high level every season. Was he perfect? Nope, but when he wasn’t, he always made up for it with plays like this or a huge double with 2-3 players on the bases and when the team needed it most. Not to mention, he can also bag the ball deep at any given time, like the rest of this lineup. LSU has some freakn studs on this team and also more coming! There is no way that there isn’t a freshman all American in HS, junior college or college that witnessed what happened last night and didn’t envision themselves with that purple and gold LSU jersey on. I know that game and these next few will be huge for the LSU baseball brand and help us land more guys who want to be the next star playing for a program like this!!! That was just amazing and exactly what players dream about. LSU is just getting started!

Best play I've seen Thompson make in a Tiger uniform and couldn't have been in a more important game. That's awesome he got National recognition like that. Much deserved.
