This is fake. The kid didn’t break the board. He will grow up thinking he succeeded until met with real adversity. Slowly, life will chip away at his will while his addictions mount and overtake his soul. In his dark stupor his adult mind will drift back to this moment realizing his instructor actually broke the board because he was too weak. To frail. And then he’ll relinquish his remaining ambitions to the streets, sleeping in dark alleyways, wet boxes, and group homes.

That could be the outcome. Or he could develop a positive view of overcoming adversity and try his hardest to be the best man he can be and have a successful career and family. You say tomato, I say potato.
