Watch Mom Trip 9-Year-Old During Youth League Basketball Game
© Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
I don't know what these parents think they gain from pulling crazy stuff at their young kids sporting events. You saw this t-ball game brawl breakout between parents the other day, which is bonkers. Then we find out the next day we have mothers tripping 9-year-olds during youth basketball games. What is really at stake here folks? Scholarships? Money? Free McDonald's? (I'd love free McDonald's. )Everyone chill out.

Players, coaches and parents from the Cornerstone Basketball Academy based in Vallejo traveled miles away to take part in the Hardwood Palace tournament Saturday against the Folsom Elite Basketball Academy.

"This specific team is our 10-year-old and under team," said Eugene Solano, the director of the Vallejo team.

Solano told FOX40 he was first notified by his players during the game of unsportsmanlike conduct from a parent sitting on the bench.

"One of the kids during one of the timeouts had said, 'Hey coach, there's a parent on the sideline, it's a woman you know, I think she's wearing a pink hat,' pretty specific. 'And she’s telling their kids to elbow us in the face,'" he recalled.
Both directors from the Folsom Elite Basketball Academy issued a joint statement in response to the footage, saying...

We have been made aware of the video and we have addressed the situation with the parent involved directly. It is our policy to manage all disciplinary matters in a way that is effective and productive so we can eliminate incidents in the future but this is an internal club matter and out of respect for the privacy of the people involved we will not be commenting any further.

I watched it again, nevermind. That was intentional

I hate to defend her but she is holding a baby and could have just as easily been trying to kick the ball away or maybe kick the child away in order to protect the tiny little one she was holding. Who knows?

Kid was OB and didn’t even fall.

I think she saw the boy and the ball heading out of bounds and it looked like she might have instinctively tried to kick the ball back in with her foot that she assumed might have been bouncing out of bounds. At least that’s what I hope.

Didn't look like much to me, she could have simply been trying to avoid getting her toes stepped on.

Did she really trip him. I don’t even know if she made contact. She could have been raising her leg to move it back. Kid was out of bounds anyway

I agree. I think it’s a leap of faith to say she did that intentionally. However, there should be more room between her and the sideline. She needs to sit in the stands.
