Old Man Snaps Kid's Fishing Pole Over His Knee Because He Was Fishing In Community Pond

I wish more kids would grab a pole and fish…instead of being online all day.

What judge is going to waste his time prosecuting a couple of 15 year old kids trespassing you old fart? You also commit battery when you grab something out of someone else's hand. The kid was no threat and it was not a weapon. I see more charges going the old man's way than these kids.

Trespassing doesn't give one the right to destroy one's personal property. Childish adults.

How can you get that bent out of shape over two kids fishing? Breaking one of their rods and bumping and bowing up to them. I just don’t get it.

This is a situation where both parties are wrong (assuming the kids are on private property)… however, if another grown man bowed up to my child like that, he’d have a serious problem on his hands, provided that my child wasn’t being disrespectful to him.

The man is clearly in the wrong. He should have called the police and politely had the kids removed. Doing all that extra stuff only makes the situation worse. He should be arrested for bumping into the kid and then breaking his pole. Not taking up for the kid, but at some point, the adult has to act like an adult!

The writer of the article says it's a community pond. The old man said it's a private pond. There is a difference.

These things happen. A few months ago I was going to see a friend and instead of typing the code into this gated community I just followed the car in front of me. The guy in the first house in the neighborhood was working outside and saw this. He ran over to my car with a shovel and demanded I stop. Just as irate as this guy. People just suck.

What’s the problem? He went off on a kid who was fishing? Probably some Yankee transplants who are just generally mad about everything.
