There's Speculation Nick Saban Could Return To College Football As An Assistant
© Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports
In a piece for Saturday Blitz, writer Peter Bartell pondered the thought of Georgia defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann, who previously worked under Nick Saban, possibly becoming the coach of West Virginia which could be a move that draws Saban to Morgantown...
quote:

"While I have speculated that Saban may want to return home to West Virginia in an assistant coach capacity, I believe that is very much contingent upon who the Mountaineers decide to hire as the head coach. Oddly enough, if it is his former mentee in Schumann, the mentee could become the mentor overnight. And I believe Saban would be more than okay with it given their history together," Bartell wrote.

"These two defensive minds together both in Morgantown could be the ultimate lure for Saban to be added to the staff for 2025."
But Saban has also state repeatedly that he's not going to West Virginia...

Have they seen how good Saban is on TV? There is no way he's going back to college and being an assistant. Thats like a president taking 4 years off and coming back as vice president.

I've watched him. Sometimes it's fun to listen to him breakdown plays, but he's in his 70's and has the charisma of a doorknob. He's not that great on TV but his name alone brings in ratings.

There is speculation that Sydney Sweeney and I could be in a relationship. Sources say the odds are slightly higher than that of Nick Saban coaching WVU in any capacity.

When pressed for comment, Saban was quoted as saying, "I guess I have to say it, I'm not going to be the West Virginia coach."
