Alabama officially announced the hire of former USC coach Steve Sarkisian as new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Sarkisian will replace Lane Kiffin next season. Per AL.com:
quote:

"He has a tremendous offensive mind and is someone we believe will do a great job of teaching and developing our football team on the offensive side of the ball," Alabama coach Nick Saban said. "He has been a great asset to our coaching staff this season and brings a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to his job. Steve will be a phenomenal addition to our coaching staff and someone who can seamlessly transition into the job with a full understanding of how our organization works."

Sarkisian came to Tuscaloosa this September to work as an analyst. It was his first job since being fired as USC's coach last October.

Another great hire by Saban, from a football standpoint. But I'll be very curious if Sark can hold it together in the pressure Coker of Alabama football. He couldn't do that at USC. Time will tell.

Coker graduated last season.

LSU should add Art Briles to staff. Nick Saban is a bloody genius. He knew Lane was leaving and brought in a spare that had a chance go spectator mode all last season. I hope Sark has his life together and keeps it that way.

Gaze upon Nick's field of fricks, and see that it is barren.

What if it was the booze making him so creative? Will Saban make him drink if the O suffers?

A red assed alcoholic who disgraced himself, his family, and the University of Southern California. Of course he's in the trailer park capital of the world now

Coach, it's called a program, not an organization. Organizations are on the highest level of football. Remember that place you were a failure at.

I'll drink to that. All joking aside, Sark is a great offensive mind.
