Former Alabama QB Greg McElroy has probably set A LOT of Crimson Tide fans off with his new rankings, putting TCU ahead of them...
quote:

“It was a fine performance against Mississippi State,” McElroy said (first transcribed by Saturday Down South). “It wasn’t great, I didn’t think they were great offensively. I thought they were excellent on defense. It was a really solid defensive performance, which is what I wanted to see.”

One thing I like about McElroy is he isn't in the least, single bit a homer. I'm a Bama fan but his job is to call it like he sees it and he is EASILY the only non-homer on ESPN. Peter Burns, LSU homer, Doering, UF homer, ..Jesse Palmer is pretty good but Galloway is a huge OSu homer.

PEOPLE!!!!! It is a ranking of only the undefeated teams. The teams without a loss! You knuckleheads are missing the real story here... Michigan #1?????

Well...since Bama is not undefeated I can see how TCU would be ahead in the lest of undefeated teams.

Bama barely beat Texas and Aggy, TCU would wax the Gumps and Clemson would give them a close game, probably a toss up

Bama is in decline and Saban is washed up

At least he knows the words to rocky top loud and clear this year!

How can he put Clemson above the Tide? That's crazy Greg.

Because he goes out of his way to not appear biased.

Clemson is undefeated and has 3 top 25 wins. Bama has 1 loss, no top 25 wins and two skin of their teeth wins over an okay Texas and a bad A&M. What logic would you use to rank Bama higher?

Clemson is undefeated and has an actual defense

Bama is mediocre on offense and defense and is almost a 3 loss team

Bama barely beat pathetic Aggy

Bama is pathetic!

I’m fine with it.

I appreciate Bama alums being honest. Take a look at Kirk Herbstreit's #1 and the same for David Pollack's #1.

I think an argument could be made for either team to be #1 though. If they were 1 loss like BAMA, you'd have good reason to question their selections.

UGA and Ohio State have legit arguments to be #1

Bama is a 10-15 range type of team
