According to local station 12 WSPA, Suttles was charged with soliciting prostitution and claimed he paid $100 to engage in sexual activity. He was booked into the Shelby County Jail and later released on $1,000.

Suttles spent several years with The Tuscaloosa News, where he helped the paper win a Pulitzer Prize for breaking news reporting on a tornado in April 2011. He also covered the Crimson Tide football program for the outlet as well as nationally for The Athletic until 2023.

At that point, Suttles left The Athletic and joined ‘Yea, Alabama” where become the director of content and regularly contributed to the organization’s website. The website has since removed Suttles’ bio and any content produced by him.

‘Yea, Alabama’ later confirmed that Suttles had been suspended while an internal investigation is underway.
