Deion Sanders Lands Major Alabama Transfer At Jackson State
© Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports
Deion Sanders continues to recruit talent to his Jackson State program. This week he's landed former Alabama, 5-foot-11, 160-pound WR Joshua Lanier...
quote:

“I knew it had to be a bigger move than just me,” Lanier said, according to the Tuscaloosa News. “It had to be more about family, had to be more about God. It had to be more about a program that I could mean something to and that can give a good message to people that look up to me.”

“It just gives me a good chance to first (stay) closer to home, which is good for my family,” Lanier said, “and it also gives me a way to show younger kids just because you’ve got other, bigger offers don’t mean that you have to go there. You can go to an HBCU. And hopefully once I go there and I can further my career to the NFL they can know that you can still go to an HBCU and go to the NFL.”

Does anyone have any idea who this player is? It doesn’t seem like that big of a signing.

I hope this becomes a trend. Then major college football can move closer to what it used to be. Future Pros are ruining the sport.

Anything to drop to his knees again for Bama. Don't they have a site this guy could "write" for?

Super talented kid, very explosive. But, coming into Bama as a walk-on and earning legit playing time at WR the past few years is a big mountain to climb Best of luck to him

There's tens of thousands of them just pick one. And by the way they're the reason for having HBCU's.

In other words, Coach Saban told me my time at Alabama would be spent on the practice squad.

It also could be about playing time and exposure with Primetime as your head coach.
