On Monday, FOX Sports 1 host Colin Cowherd took a shot at Alabama and their 2019 non-conference schedule...

“Look at Alabama’s schedule, the four games Alabama could control because the SEC hands out the schedule,” Cowherd said Monday on The Herd. “They scheduled Duke, New Mexico State, Southern Miss and Western Carolina. I wouldn’t walk across the street to watch those games. And Nick Saban controls that. He doesn’t control the other eight, but he controls those four.

“Saban complains, ‘the students aren’t coming out.’ Yeah, because they have a life. There’s options. There’s a bunch of stuff on TV and on their phones. Stop blaming the fans.”

Bama is smart. Play no one OOC. Finish third in the SEC. Sit at home during the SECCG, then go to the playoff. I don't blame them at all.

Bama plays "no one" OOC? Since 2007, Bama has played Fla St, Va Tech, Penn St, Penn St, Michigan, Va Tech, West Virg, Wisconsin, USC, Fla St, Louisville.

Meanwhile Ohio St plays Miami Oh, Florida Atlantic and Cinncinati for non-conference foes in 2019. At least Bama signed up for one of the kickoff classics and the best opponent that the classic officials could ound up was a P% clu and Bowl team, DUKE. In previousyears Bama's foe in those games included USC, Michigan, Clemson, Penn St and Florida St. Nobody wants to olunteer for a college football kickoff classic that includes a season ruining whalloping from Bama. Therefore Bama is dropping participation in those games and has home and home games in the immediate future with Texas and then Notre Dame.

OSU had a home and home with TCU that Gary Patterson demanded to be released from the second game. They had to scramble and picked up FAU to replace. It’s a shitty non-con for them for sure, but at least they tried to play a decent team.

I think people here are missing Cowherd’s point. It’s not the soft schedule that’s the problem. The problem is that Saban complains about nobody wanting to come out and see these glorified scrimmages. Nobody wants to pay money to watch Bama hang 50+ on dudes that wouldn’t make their practice squad.

Clemson has one top 25 team on the entire schedule what do you expect. Saban to run the SECw gauntlet, throw in a utah or washington, and get clemson in the postseason thats been resting starters in the 3rd qtr all year?

Bama is ridiculed for Duke. For ND, Duke is a BRUTAL game according to the NCAA. 10. Notre Dame ?Get ready for a slightly down year for the Irish. That trip to Georgia seems destined to end in a loss. And then there are brutal games at Michigan, Duke and Stanford. Seems like 9-3 is the end result. He's usually 100% wrong on his hot takes but there's absolutely nothing controversial here. Bama has scheduled better OOC than most teams in the SEC the past decade, but this year is garbage.
