Alabama QB Bryce Young Signs New NIL Deal

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alabama QB Bryce Young has signed a deal to join with Colin Cowherd and iHeartRadio’s The Volume podcast network. As part of the deal, Young will become the host of the new, weekly The Bryce Young Podcast.

It’s an opportunity for fans to hear somebody, to get the perspective of the quarterback, the on-field coach of Alabama, the best dynasty of my life. So it just felt kind of natural.”

now this is where a coach can put his foot down. Making NIL money is one thing, but having your QB on a podcast, where he can put his foot in his mouth on any number of issues, is too much. I'll be curious to see if this ever actually happens.

College kids tend to say thing they shouldn't necessarily say. I don't see a podcast being something that will benefit anyone but Cowherd. These kids need to stick to just taking a pic for a dealership or local restaurant.

The lacks of rules around this NIL deal is freaking insane. It's like the NCAA just gave even a big middlefinger. Just surprised none of these deals required review/approval. RIP College sports

There are certainly rules in place regarding NIL possibilities and the interactions with the schools' intellectual property. I can't imagine that the players have not been informed of potential boundaries - for example, can Bryce Young talk about practice strategy? Game planning? Opponent scouting? I would think not. Campus life? Game day atmosphere? Of course.

Reading these replies, I'd have thought the dude went way off the rails. It's all pretty mild. And Saban isn't going anywhere LOL. We'll keep hoping. As he said in his interview a month or so ago, while he doesn't necessarily like NIL he knows Bama will greatly benefit from it.
