Vandy Kicker Sarah Fuller Posted This To Those Hating On Her 'Player of the Week' Nod
© Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports
Vanderbilt kicker Sarah Fuller made history over the weekend becoming the first woman ever to officially take the field during a football game in a major conference football game. Her only action was a 30-yard kick to start the second half. So when she won SEC's "Special Teams Player of the Week," the internet trolls came a knocking. So, she hit them with this...

That moment when you are proud to win player of the week for squib kicking as a publicity stunt by a coach who's about to be fired, and you double down on it by posting a vid of you kicking a soccer ball rather than the actual play that you won player of the week award for

Exactly. She could've gone ahead and shut us all up by kicking a touchback (or even just inside the 10-yard line). You know why she didn't? Because she can't. The "pre-planned" squib kick is a farce. She knows she can't do it. The coaches know she can't do it. Otherwise, they would've let her do it.

Or shite...now that I think about it, how about just a video of her on an empty field kicking a football 60+ yards off a tee? Shouldn't be too hard right?

This is stupid now. We have young men who work hard at punting and kicking footballs their whole lives, and in the whole of the SEC, they chose someone who does not play football, who the day before was on the soccer team and who's big contribution was a squib kick. This is pure woke trash and the treason people can't stand this force fed shite.

Girl gets feeling hurt and then makes a counterpoint with no logical connection? (That never happens....)

True. Futbol does not equal football.

Why is the football in that clip round and white?

Was literally the worst kickoff I have ever seen in my entire life.

LSU used to have a kicker named Juan Carlos Betanzos. He was aboot equal to her.

Participation award.

Are we setting the bar so low for woman that coming in to do a squib kick is celebrated as a great accomplishment? Come on, let's get a away from the participation trophy and actually celebrate something special. Just saying . . . .

She probably only posted that because a large group of people criticized her athletic ability in their comments. What she fails to realize is that the majority of people are upset with her award because it's a merit based award given to someone who didn't deserve it for their on field FOOTBALL accomplishments.

Exactly. Her playing is fine / commendable if she can handle it, but to give an award for doing nothing on the field is unacceptable.

If this girl would’ve just been one of the humble, quiet types that just wanted to play football to prove something to herself, I would’ve respected that. Her incessant chirping and the story I read about her “inspirational” halftime speech just makes me want her to go away already. Yet, the lies to prop her up continue. For starters, that’s a soccer ball, not a football. And no, she did not kick it “nearly the length of the field.” She’s almost at midfield for goodness sake.

It is not her fault. She had 1942 reporters in her face, screaming "Ermagerd Girl!!!!You are history and the pinnacle of womankind," etc. She got caught up in all of the fake, manufactured hoopla. They are playing like she is equal to Neal Armstrong. This will all settle down and she will return to her everyday life.

Participation trophy. OMG, let a woman really do something special before getting so excited.

More like, let a woman really do something average before getting so excited.

Didn't you know? In our new society, everyone is a hero that does anything

If she had any pride she would realize it was award given and not earned. Just like a participation Trophy.

She made history by making a poor kick. Liberals are poisoning people's mind on what an accomplishment is. Not what you do, but who you are, or how you identify.

I am confused. She "earns" a football award and then posts a video about a sport no one watches?

There are women who live in remote parts of this country like Alaska who hunt, trap, fish, tan hides, and raise families all in arse deep snow. Yet, people make a big deal out of a chick squib kicking a football.

Vandy should just drop football after this disgusting attempt to draw attention to some kind of perverted political statement. SEC should remove them

Don’t leave that shite here! Take it with you because I don’t watch damn soccer and care less about a 30 yard kickoff. That’s embarrassing for college football

This whole thing was a publicity stunt to save Mason's job, and it didn't work. Little girls aren't stupid. When they see this lame kick and are told that it means they "can accomplish anything they want," they just roll their eyes. It's absurd, and the media is only feeding this story for views.
