Remember how the Longhorn Network was going to make Texas the dominant college power?

It didn't turn out that way. LINK

Texas was going to get Nick Saban.

They got this guy

then this guy

Texas claimed to be DBU.

Then this happened

Remember Smart and Strong

Not so Smart

Definitely not Strong

They're also TCU and Taysom Hill's bitch

BUT BUT Texas is bigger than football lmao

TEXAS IS BACK FOLKS

That’s a lot of words (and pics) coming from a team who just won a NC.. Thank you for spending so much time on this post.

I really thought that aggy moving to the SEC would have a civilizing effect on them, but damned if aggy didn't make the SEC more aggy. Very sad.

Strong should have stayed at Louisville, the school that gave him his first chance at HC. He was very successful and had everything he could ever want there. It’s weird that people like him and Shaka Smart can be so successful at one school and shite at others.

Makes you wonder…. Is there is a common theme… issues with the destination?

Strong didn't have the support of the boosters from Day 1. He was screwed the day he took the job

That may be a fair question. The old guard donors seem to have extraordinary influence over the day-to-day operations at UTa. At least that’s what I’ve garnered from reading the Horns’ boards over the years. That might be an explanation why a school with everything is so unsuccessful on the field and court.

I actually laughed. Nice one.

I might add although the ACU basketball loss was one of the most infuriating ever I think it will prove to be a huge blessing in disguise. I get it - Beard hasn't done anything on the court yet - but based upon the evidence we have at hand already this guy is going to take the basketball program to a level that no coach before was able to.

Been a brutal decade to say the least but I predict the 2020's will mirror more of the 2000-2009 era in Texas sports though, which were terrific.

I wished he had. They replaced Mack with that shitshow.

So you’ve had one successful 10 year period in the last 40 years

Sark will make it 2 successful periods in 50 years?

I remember Tayson Hill and BYU racked up over 500 rushing yards against the Shorthorns. It was glorious. How many years has Texas been back? They won’t be back until they destroy the SEC.
