Love it brother! Hope you have a killer day at the track and an awful time at the game. ;-)

Are you going to Keeneland? Lexington is gorgeous. Take in a day at the prettiest horse racing track in the world or do a distillery tour. Lexington is kinda awesome.
re: What does the SEC get out of playing a 9 game league schedule?

I don't think anyone is getting penalized for not running the table or having one loss these days.
Yes... but will an SEC team get penalized when it's between a 10-1 team that played a shite sandwich schedule and a 9-2 or 8-3 SEC team that comparatively played in the NFC East for one of the last playoff spots? Humans aren't great at seeing/acknowledging underlying complexity. Usually most people just default to "10-1 looks better than 9-2 or 8-3" so I'm pessimistic that we get more credit than harm from the extra game.

The biggest problem with the polls has always been it uses number of losses as the primary criteria to rank teams, which is completely absurd because your number of losses at any given point in time is as much a function of your schedule as the quality of your team.
Yes. This is why I was somewhat leery of the SEC going to a 9 game schedule. You don't get more credit for adding another potential loss to your schedule. People aren't great with nuance and sophisticated comparison. They just look at a 10-1 and a 9-3 team and have a hard time giving more credit to the 9-3 team under any circumstance.

But also think this conference has never been deeper.
Scary thought.
