Texas A&M freshman running back Rakeem Boyd has decided to transfer to Independence (Kan.) Community College, according to 247Sports.

The Houston-area product was on-track to be a contributor this upcoming season for Kevin Sumlin as he saw increased playing time. However, academics have plagued the three-star prospect since arriving to Aggieland.

In fact, one main reason the former Houston Stratford ball carrier didn’t see action this past season was due to him not arriving to fall camp on time as he waited to be cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse. This semester, Boyd didn’t meet his hour requirements after dropping too many classes, which forced him to find a new home at the junior college ranks.
Boyd is the third Aggie to transfer out of the program since the end of the spring semester.

Good for him for leaving that High School and going to a real college.

Even Community Colleges can out-recruit Sumlin.

Don't know why they are talking about his grades. Leaving aTm seems like a pretty smart move.

Sometimes you have to actually give a damn, nothing in life is given to you.
